Hello Moz Community,

For the last couple of months we have been trying to improve our ranking in Google UK for the keyword  "church candles"

We’ve been contacting relevant interiors/lifestyle blogs to feature our candles including anchor text linking back to our page. Our anchor text has been predominately our brand (Watts & Co) but also other key search terms (Watts and Co church candles, Watts and Co pillar candles).

We have been tracking our ranking for the keyword “Church candles”  using the Moz “ Rank Tracker” and we started on position 15 in Google UK. We went up to 12 briefly before moving down every week to 15, 17, 19 and 22. We checked today and we have moved back up slightly to 19.

Our progress seems to be a bit slow and inconsistent. We wanted to reach out for any advice on how we can move up? If there was any way we can improve our strategy?

It has happened in the last few months. Nothing major but most keywords appear to drop one position down regularly.

Yes I have run the site through OSE. Our spam score is 0 out of 17.

Hello there,

Based on Moz's rank tracker our keywords ranking have been dropping in ranking.

Does anyone know what might be the cause?

We have been building quality "white hat" links which are very relevant to our niche

Our company has offices at two different locations and has two websites. One for wholesale clients and another for retail clients looking to order online.

1. How do I add the second website into the tool?

2. How do I ensure the correct office links to the correct website?

Our total number of links went down from 2080 in May to 576 in June.

See attached a screenshot from OSE showing the difference between the two indexes.

Hi John,

There has been a big fluctuation both up and down for most of our keywords in the last month.

However, I would say our overall ranking has improved over that period.

Our domain authority dropped yesterday from 37 to 33 yesterday

If a quality blog in our specific niche writes an article about us which is clearly labelled "sponsored post" as we have either paid them or given them a product, will Google discount that link going back to our website?

Should we request for the link to be "no-follow"?

We have got all our clients linking to our website blackpen.tv

Based on a user's location they will be redirected to a sub domain.

So for example someone in France clicking on a link blackpen.tv would be redirected to paris.blackpen.tv or blackpen.tv/paris

Would this affect the amount of link juice passed down?
