Does Moz consider this (crippling restriction) a good thing? Are they working on a fix?

Google Fetch and Render - does this fix penalties?
Ran the fetch and render and came up with two "issues". My specific question is how likely would a link to quantcast (which blocks acces via roberts.txt) really hurt us if fetch and render shows it preventing rendering - which it is not.
Thoughts and comments are much appreciated.

RE: Is Wordpress good for SEO
The best test case for the value of WordPress is to switch an existing site to WP from HTML as see the results. I have been impressed. I only use SEO optimized theme framework like headwaythemes.com genesis or thesis.
I find Yoast SEO buggy and redundant if you use a strong framework.

Colin, you are definitely right about WordPress and SEO. The link you provided was also quite helpful - thanks for the reminder.

Rel="canonical" link should they be to or from an "SEO friendly" url
Thanks for taking the time to review this.
So for our example, lets use the following SEO friendly link:
We'll call this link the SEO VERSION
The title of the college is" Pacific Christian College of Minstry and Biblical Studies"
The title of the program is "BA Biblical Studies"
The QUERY version of the link to this page would be something like:
Keep in mind that the meta title, description, and keyword tags for the page are all administerable
The SEO VERSION is automatically created from the title of the college, and the title of the program. Each one of these titles can be overidden with a URL slug individually. For instance, the admin could make the link:
by changing the slug for the college to "pacific-christian-college-of-ministry" and the slug for the program to "biblical-studies". Let's call this version the SLUG VERSION
So now we have multiple ways to get to the same content. The question on the table is what is best practice for the rel="canonical" link to keep from getting dinged for duplicate content.
Let's say that our SEO VERSION is the canonical link for 1 year. Then the choice was made to optimize the links thru the slugs creating the SLUG VERSION. My assumption is that we would keep the SEO VERSION as the canonical link.
But then let's say 6 months later that the title of the program is changed in the admin. Now the SEO VERSION has changed and so has the canonical link. Do we lose the link juice garnered over the last 18 months?
It would seem to me, that if we use the QUERY version as the canonical link, then any optimizations or changes affect everything except the canonical link, thus keeping the previous link juice earned. But is having an ugly URL as the canonical link detrimental to SEO?
Please advise.

RE: What is Best Platform to Build Website - SEO in mind
I recently took on the task of performing SEO on a several hunded page Joomla site. It is truly a nightmare to work on compared to WordPress.
Joomla may have come a long way - but it has miles to go. I recommend against this platform for anyone who cares about SEO.

RE: What is Best Platform to Build Website - SEO in mind
I have used Wordpress / Thesis and agree with its being a great platform for SEO. In fact, I have taken purchased HTML themes and converted them to Thesis only to see the PR grow quickly.
Recently, I have been using Genesis from STudioPress (as I like their themes as a starting point).
Seeing similar SEO results - any observations?

RE: Conflict in reported link data
OK that helps. Will download a csv of all links... thanks!

Conflict in reported link data
I have a competitor in a campaign - the campaign report shows 181 linked domains
BUT - the site explorer report shows only 15 linked domains.
Which is correct? And if the site explorer is correct - how do we fix the campaign report?

Can I exclude sub-domains from the crawl diagnostics?
I am working with a site with 7500 pages in a sub-domain. The root site has 650 pages, but I am having difficulty finding and working with those 650 pages due to all the "noise" from the sub-domain pages that are in Ning and can't be fixed.
Can i exclude sub-domains from the crawl?

Large volume of ning files in subdomain - hurting or helping?
I have a client that has 600 pages in their root domain and a subdomain that contains 7500 pages of un-seoable Ning pages. PLUS another 650 pages from Sched.com that also is contributing to a large volume of errors.
My question is - should I create a new domain for the Ning content - or am I better off with the volume of pages - even if they have loads of errors?
Thanks!
