Prowling report says "duplicate titles" for wp-login.php
-
Hi there,
How are you guys doing?
I have a quick question. The last prowling report we received said we have three pages with "duplicate titles". Those three pages are:
/wp-login.php
wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
/wp-login.php?action=register
I'm a little confused because those pages don't even have a title.
Do you think it's a big deal? Also do you have any idea of why the prowling report says those pages have duplicate titles?
Apparently, wp-login.php is part of the Wordpress core. It's a built-in page that
handles login and registration. Not something we can edit. Thanks a lot and have a nice day!

Hi
The only thing that matters, is that page is not being indexed.
1. Go to your WordPress login page
2. View Source
3. Be sure this meta tag is still in place: name='robots' content='noindex, nofollow' />
You can also do a site search in Google: site:www.mydomain.com/wp-login.php - if it is not in Google's index then you are file.
What type of "prowling" report was this, an SEOmoz report? I don't think your admin pages should be showing up in there, does anyone else know?

Hi Dan,
Thanks a lot for your note.
The prowling report was from one of our campaigns on http://www.seomoz.org/campaigns
I'll dig into the meta tag. Unfortunately, the page is indexed by Google...
Thanks again for your help

I am having the same issue on:
Feels like this should not need editing?
