Link disavow
I completely agree on (1) and (3). I don't think there's any harm in proactive submission, as long as you're not worried about revealing any self-inflicted issues in your link profile. Unfortunately, our best indications at this point is that (2) might not be correct. If Google doesn't see some effort at actual removal, they may disregard the disavow request. There's no harm in it, per se, but they may not honor the request.

Removed Link
It can take days, weeks or months for a link to be recognized as removed by Google. It depends on the crawl frequency of the site. If I've gotten a link removed from a PR6 site it likely will be noticed by Google quickly as the page is probably crawled often. But, if it's a PR0 that has not changed in months then it may take weeks before the page is recrawled and Google sees the link is gone. FYI, if you are disavowing links you will still see them in WMT. Disavowing doesn't remove the link but Google essentially adds a nofollow to it.

Increasing Search Queries
Nov 5th 2012 is the exact data of the 21st Google Panda rollout! Are you a victim of it? May be, because the date is exactly the same data when Google rolled out hte update on Panda. Here is the like to it! http://www.seroundtable.com/google-panda-21-15918.html I guess when you need to do is to figure out what quires are lost and what pages were ranking against it.. once done, start fixing the pages in terms of on-page and content and get more natural links to it and most probably things will go good with you again!

Social signal
I know the likes and plus +1's help but for instance: i have a blog post that has 0 tweets 4 +1's and 19 comments. Do the 19 comments help build authority for the page in anyway similar to getting +1's and likes?
