Thinking of phasing this out. Too many spammy links in these.
Does anyone still use article websites for 'white hat' SEO? E.g. create a high-quality article, then post it using 'branded' anchor text, e.g. link is the name of the business or URL.

Great feedback. I always like to think of the search engine as a person.
Hi,
Does having text in hidden areas (that are expandable with a button) harm their value in SEO?
E.g. there are 'read more' areas on the homepage of this site that have content that is not accessible otherwise. Does this content have the same weight when it is hidden versus if this whole area was visible?
Yes, same exact URL.
Hi there,
Why is my SEOmoz toolbar showing me higher linking root domains than open site explorer?
For example, for this site: http://thisisouryear.com/, the linking root domains in SEOMOZ show 1,015 and in open site explorer it says it has 35. I have noticed this for other sites as well.
Which one is right? And why are they different?
The $1500 is JUST for their local search program. It's bundled with everything, but basically the $1500 per month is just for this.
CBS has a service that they offer to their advertisers called CBS Local Pages. Has anyone used this? It's about $1500 a month and basically they send "business data" to local listing platforms, this is similar to UBL and LocalEZE it seems.
One of my associates subscribed to this and they're unsure of the value, they are paying $1500/mo for something that can be achieved with $125/year with localeze.
Has anyone used this?
Yes it will hurt. It is sensitive but the real impact fluctuates. You need a unique NAP. Your listings may end up blending together sooner than later.
Which one do you weigh more than the other? I prefer high-authority sites over low-authority but relevant sites/pages personally. From my experience, non-relevant'authoritative' websites/pages tend to have a bigger impact than 'relevant' websites/pages.
What do you think? What is your experience?
I'm running into an issue where we are having difficulty finding blogs that accept guest blog posts after doing this on 300 or so blogs. We usually Google "guest post" related keywords with "blog" or take blogs off of lists of sites that accept guest blog posts. What techniques do you recommend? Do any of you use myblogguest.com with any success?
I am having a problem with local search for my business. I submitted the same NAP (Name, Address, Phone) info to Google Places as I have submitted via LocalEZE and Universal Business Listing. Here is the issue. The local number that is being used does not have any way to track calls, meaning the phone company (xo communications) does not give us the number of incoming calls. To add call tracking to the local numbers through our PBX system is very expensive, $2000 per store. Also to transfer this local number to a call tracking company (like callsource or whoiscalling) is a lot of trouble and not an option either. I need to track the call count somehow so I have two options left. 1) Get a new local number (that is also a tracking number through a phone tracking company) and then submit this to Google Places, LocalEZE and Universal Business Listing. The issue with this is that all of our citations will be re-set with a new local number, basically we'd have to do local SEO all over again. 2) Use the main 800 number in Google Places, this can be tracked. However, then our local number is on all of the NAP citations and Google Places will be the only web property with an 800 number. What are your thoughts?
Thanks! Do you use this instead of UBL?
