2 page titles, 1 url in Google SERPS: WTF!?!?
Hey Highland :), Nice to meet you, might of been a funny bug that it didn't display your name the first time. Have you seen this happen before ? If so could u (or anybody else) plz post 2 serp links displaying the same url but with 2 different page titles? I was only aware this would happen to meta descriptions (either a piece of matching text is taken or in some cases the dmoz.org description) thanks in advance

Great share. Interesting as I always believe there was a slight dampening effect going on.

What happens to (external) linkjuice after you redirect a page?
Hi All, Mini update here. Matt Cutts posted a video exactly about this issue on YouTube yesterday. Basically he says 'PageRank' loss via 301's is a MYTH :D. In my opinion this sounds like great news to me. I assume i won't have to change all my external links to a new url just to save +- 10% juice Video link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Filv4pP-1nw Hope this info is usefull to you guys ( and gals) :), Lawrence Shaw watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Filv4pP-1nw

Long term risks of using .org for commercial websites
To be honest, I would be more likely to click a branded domain over the EMD. From what you have said there is numerous EMD domains on the first page meaning it is likely that users will ignore and think of them as spammy. I'm not basing this on any facts so don't quote me on it or anything but I am speaking from my own experience and how I know my friends and family think. Thanks.

New TLD's released Jan 1st 2013\. Who's in ?
I was of the same opinion untill i started to think of the what the possibilities could be for EMD's etc. Might be a great oppurtunity that won't come by often.

Pagerank 0 vs Page Authority 53....?
Hi Lawrence, Your research is quite interesting. It sounds like there's benefit from adding links to this type of directory in the Netherlands regardless of the SEO benefit - if the Dutch are using these types of sites as their start pages, then you may actually gain a fair amount of traffic. Although we have a few banklinks from Dutch directory pages, I cannot say that this was part of any strategy similar to yours. I'd be really interested to know if it works for you, and also whether you get a fair bit of traffic from them. Please post a blog or something about it in a few months - it would be very much appreciated! Matt

Do GoogleWacks still exist?
Haha, Good ol googlewhacking, it can be a lot of fun, but ofcourse you want to find one in the end ;). I've added a little clip of comedian Dave Gorman. He recorded (quite a few years ago) a live stand up after writing a book of his googlewhack adventures. His goal was to find 10 people who had found a googlewhack. I wouldn't know where you'd be able to find the full version of it. It definitely worth the watch :). More information about his googlewhack adventure on his site http://www.davegorman.com/projects_googlewhack_adventure.html Have fun and goodluck Googlewhacking and if anybody finds one be sure to misspell it when posting it anywhere :). Like bamboozel guzzler --> bam--b00zle guz---zl3r Let's see who can find the shortest long tail Googlewhack :D. watch?v=kTxB2SVH-7s&feature=relmfu

Do a lot of related articles in lower subfolders, boost higher level subfolder keywords?
Thanks again for your input, The reason this question arrose was because i was thinking of a news structure from a users perspective and my collgeague from a technical standpoint. Also he showed me how a friend of his got to the first page in the serps simply by moving a lot of related content under a subfolder. This i found hard to believe, that simply putting in content under a subfolder would make the higher subfolder automatically rank higher. Up to 5 years ago i thought sites rank well because they write a lot of articles, then i in 2007 i started reading up and focussing on SEO and understood that its not about quantity but quality and hierarchy and that really got me interested in SEO. So i thought a 'traditional' news category like www.example.com/news/ with related articles (inter)linking to related subfolder landing pages would be a logical experience for the user and thus for bots. But 'sparring' with my colleague who is imo a very good programmer, made me second guess myself and the situation, and thus i ended up asking the great seomoz community :). So thanks again for the input and will probably have the articles both under www.example.com/news/topic-article1/ and under www.example.com/topic/news/opic-article1/ (with a canonical tag on it). Also i have never thought about the concequences for CTR in the SERPS using the dates in the url's. Thats a very valid point and wil have to take a look at how 'evergreen' the written news articles are. Comming to think of it I also unconsciously ávoid' sites with urls showing old dates when searching for something specific. I even goes as fas as changing the date range in search settings. I've added a video for you enjoyment. It's the one and only SEO Rapper from way back when... enjoy a0qMe7Z3EYg
