yeah you're right. I take good care of quality link building normally but in this particular case, I was experimenting a bit (some of the other similar sites reacted well to same links) but this one didn't.

RE: Is it bad to have same templates for all of my EMDs
hey Gerd, thanks thats helpful. I searched it and found some nice reads! Didn't know about manual reviews. But I guess manual review is somtime good as If you have good quality brand sites (EMDs) then you dont have to worry about machine algo picking your site by mistake.

RE: Is it bad to have same templates for all of my EMDs
That's a good example. Thanks for sharing.
Though, I guess if something like this happens it wont be template update alone, it might be a combination of low quality, bit of similar pattern seen in content and few other factors like all similar EMDs with similar templates interlinked and so on.

RE: Is it ok for a web design company to have a branded footer link on their client's sites?
Its ok to do so , many seo companies put their site link in their client site's footer too!
Though, recently links in footer or other boiler plate areas like side bars etc do not get much value from Google. THough links in more prominent areas like top of the site of from text has more value
Hope that helps !

RE: OSE Too Slow
Yes I have the same issue. I believe this question should goto seomoz, I made links more than one month back still none of them showing up in OSE today after more than a month.

RE: Is it bad to have same templates for all of my EMDs
yeah, thought so but do you think any future update might include anything like that ?

RE: Site not responding well to Link Building
nope I am not using KWs for link building. I know it should be a good mix of KWs, brand name, URL and general words.
Also I made some directory submissions links but like I said I removed them now recently.

RE: Is it bad to have same templates for all of my EMDs
yes, even my sites are ranking at top 5 for most of the keywords but I am afraid some future update might change things!

RE: Is it bad to have same templates for all of my EMDs
yeah I believe at the moment thers is no problem I am assuming that Google algorithm updates might introduce something like that in future where it might use same templates as one factor to know if the sites are all same, hosted on same servers and liked with each other and hence might be come under spam

Is it bad to have same templates for all of my EMDs
I have been working on EMDs and they are more than 40 EMDs. All 2 KW EMDs with DA around 35
Now they all have same templates. Can it be a problem in future ? (though they don't have similar content)

Site not responding well to Link Building
I worked on around 15 EMDs and all of them have similar template but different content. They are all two KW EMDs.
Now I did KW research and changed Title tags and Did around 10- 15 links for them in and they all reacted very well to link building except one site.
I did the link building for this site in 3 batches- 7 links in first 10 days, then another 7 in next 10 days and another 7 links after 7 days.
Site's ranking decreased with each link building.
Then I removed the low quality links recently. Now What do you guys suggest should I again do link building?? (though everytime I did link building site lost rankings as mentioned earlier)
or
WHAT IS THE NEXT STRATEGY AFTER REMOVING BAD LINKS? START LINKING AGAIN, WAIT FOR SOMETIME ?

RE: Bad Link Removal
Thanks for the link. It has some nice tools. I might try them out.

RE: Bad Link Removal
Like I mentioned, If you read it carefully, it says in bracket- (though it might still be passing some link juice). But then there are many other factors too which will decide whether links is good quality or bad quality.

RE: Bad Link Removal
How to find bad links:
Best way is to maintain a spreadsheet of what links you made and what anchor text you have used so far to make links. Now, If you have done this already then open each link. Now make use of seomoz bar to check the Domain Authority of that domain sending link to you. Anything less than 40 DA can not be called as high quality link (though it might still be passing some link juice).
Further, you should check whether it is a link in comment or from directory submissions. After recent Google updates both these links are considered spam in most cases and should be removed.
You should also analyse your rankings and Google Analytics data. If the organic traffic dropped after the dates when you made link and if there is any drop in the rankings after you made those links then these can be seen as the signals showing that those links might be bad links.
Few more obvious factors are If the link is coming from a site which is filled with spam, a paid link, reciprocal link are kind of links which are not good for the health of your site!
Removing Bad links:
Checkout each of the site and login to your account and either remove your account or just remove the link. Or else you can look for the author or contact person on that site and send q request letter with your login details requesting them to remove the link.

RE: My site rank is not consistent. Once it at first page , then for the next week it is not found in top 100 position. Again two/ three weeks later it ranked automatically without any work. Why this is happening?
It happens sometime. One reason might be the changing competition of the keywords that your site is optimised for. I have noticed the fluctuations in the some of the sites even though we are not doing anything with them!
Google's crawling rate has becomes faster lately and resulting in more fluctuations in results.
All you can do is keep increasing the authority for your site by quality content building and link building. So that Google trust your site and rank it on first page consistently. Also check if you got any spam links and try to remove them.
