Changing links
In that case I would suggest changing a couple and reviewing any changes in rankings as a result. This is one to approach slowly. Not sure how you have access (are they paid?), but by changing a large amount of links at the same time it may alert Google to some suspicious activity. Large changes in anchor text can be a sign of changes to bought links. Personally, I wouldn't change them all either. Even though the year is wrong, there's still going to be benefits. e.g. if you are trying to rank for "holiday in new york 2013", your rankings will still benefit from keywords saying "holiday in new york 2012". Take it steady and keep reviewing the results, but bear in mind you may be better focusing your efforts on building new links with new anchor text. Hope that helps, Ben

Sites banned from Google?
Just do site:domain.com search in Google to see if pages from this domain are indexed. If you want to check cache, you can do so by doing a search for cache:domain.com or cache:domain.com/pageurl.html I hope this helps.

Build links to / or without ./ on root
Hi! Basically Google treats urls with a "/" on the end as folder and without a "/" as a file. For sub-folders you should decide what format to use. www.domain.com/blog OR www.domain.com/blog/ Then make a 301 redirect (best) or put a canonical link to preferred version. For linking to your start page I would just go to without the "/", It doesn't really matter there imo. More info from Google http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.se/2010/04/to-slash-or-not-to-slash.html

+1 url or group?
It depends on your goal. If your goal was just to get +1's to be higher in Google's social search then just plus one your site. If you want to stay in touch with the people who've +1 you then you need to use your page. And none of that really matters as Google has provided a way to link your website to your business page. http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1708844

Rel=author?? google auth?
Hi Guys, I just wanted to add to what I have previously said as when I have dug a bit deeper into this, I have found some info that could go against what I have previously said. You can use the rel=publisher tag alongside the rel=author tag on a webpage. With this in mind it would be a good idea to have the rel=publisher present on every page in your website to enable you to be eligible for Google's Direct Connect feature. I found this out when looking through a Google forum and one of the Google Trend Analysts confirmed this by saying: Hi guys _just a few short comments: it's fine to have both a link rel=publisher and author-markup on the same page. The rel=publisher confirms that your website is the publisher of that Google+ Page; the authorship markup confirms that you (your personal profile) is the author of the content on that page. This markup can be used independently, since the meanings are slightly different. The issue with the Rich Snippets testing tool flagging this as an error is a bug on our side and should be resolved soon (sorry about the confusion caused by that!). _Cheers__John Just thought I would share this with you all as it might help. Matt.

Social Noise - what counts?
How could they do that? You see one of the companies I work for is a boring niche. We used a Facebook ad to gain users and we gained 1000 of these users when I pulled the plug. With 1000 users in a boring niche we got no interaction. So, do you believe Google can determine a boring niche from a non boring niche? What do you think will get more attention a Lady Gaga post or a metal building post? I am unsure of how much value these mentions have or how they are calculated. I find too many flaws in it. However, if your in a non boring niche and users are interacting you should do fine, and most likely this will help. Im speaking from a boring niche perspective... Whether I get 1,000,000 users to like me or 5 its the same interaction for each post. Non existant.

Social boxes on website - facebook comments feature
Have you seen the Facebook developers page about this? http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/comments/ I don't think you can pre-approve these comments but you can set up alerts that let you know when someone has posted and also blacklist certain words if you want to. I'm assuming your worried about spammers.

Schema mark up
If you are ranking at 2nd/3rd position and sites above you do not have rich snippet it does makes sense to include them ASAP as it attracts eyeballs and clicks. In short, Rich Snippet definitely help in improving CTR which is a part of ranking signal.

Beating a keyword Domain
Keyword domains used to be a lot more powerful than they are right now. Based upon watching a lot of their rankings, I believe that Google turned down their value in early 2011 - shortly after Matt Cutts said that their value would likely be turned down. Maybe they will do that again, I don't know. I agree that some of these sites rank well with very little content and poor user experience. That generally occurs where competition is rather low in Google or where it is low to moderate in Bing. Where competition is high a domain only makes a fractional contribution to the rankings. So when you see them ranking well for highly competitive terms they are doing the same type of SEO as any other site with poor onsite assets.

Sadly it looks like there isn't an option to change the color. Maybe they're trying to compete with the Pinterest button.

PPC and new Google updates
Yes it could impact display and also the text ad traffic. Display because your publishers might go up or down in traffic and you might notice a difference if that movement is big enough. Text PPC traffic could be affected because they made some changes to Local results as well, however it completely depends on your niche, your geo target market and if your organic competition includes local listings at all.

Where to put content on the page? - technical
Thanks for that, good read. Quite furstrating they haven't given us much info about how they detect or differentiate from relevant images to the site design and adverts? i guess if it has no link in it, it'll be seen as natural.

OSE - still showing me links are there when they are not?
Interestingly, up until this past Jan. 17th, each index has been completely updated. This means that the links that appeared were found in the past 3-4 weeks before the Index was published. This changed with the last update. Now it's possible to see links indexed many months ago, which makes for a larger index, but means that you may see some links in there that have dropped off the graph. So it's weird that you're finding these links, since this change was only implemented 2 weeks ago. That said, with any index it's common to see certain links disappear quickly. As for alternatives, I'm afraid there aren't many. You could try Majestic, which is a great service with a large index - but that large index comes with a price. My experience has been they historically include more of these types of missing links than Moz. (this isn't meant as a criticism - different link indexes can serve different purposes) Regardless, I'd be curious, like you, to know if others are experiencing the same issue... Please weigh in if you are seeing this, or feel free to write the help team at help@seomoz.org.
