Do you have a web development team or a web developer? What I would do is pass this notification over to them, along with your notifications from Moz, and see if they have a means to correct these issues. I am assuming that Google passed along resources in their notification; I would look into those and see what your options are.

If you do not have a web development team, I would check out the Recommended List to find a company that does web development as well as SEO that can assist in this. What it sounds like to me is that you are linking off to an app with a subdomain and it's creating a different user experience than the one generated by your website.

If I were you, I would find a suitable blogging platform that you can bring your sharing capabilities onto, and create a consistent and seamless experience for your users. Two questions:

• Is your subdomain blog.domain.com? Or is it named differently?
• Do you have your blog posts on your website and copied word for word on your subdomain?

I would redirect the page to it's new URL because if this page ranked for any keywords or queries, the new page can stand to gain that visibility. I would also do it from a user experience standpoint. If a customer or user bookmarked that page, then they will be able to be redirected to the correct URL. So, my two cents, go ahead and redirect, especially if it's a few pages, and also make sure your internal links / sitemap XML are updated to the new URL.

"never" on my end was a strong word - I apologize. What I am saying that without proper optimization and taking advantage of opportunities like those listed above, you probably won't appear for those search queries here in Chicago.

My point being - you need to invest in associating your brand with these different regions that you provide services in and have representatives in. Whether it is dedicated on-site content or mentions on other sites that are in those regions, you have opportunities to appear for location based searches.

"It seems like what you're saying is that we need to establish locality in every large and small city in the U.S. and order to be found by people who live anywhere in the U.S."

Not at all - I am saying people in these cities do searches for hotels / tours / travel packages for different cities/countries around the world, researching where they want to go on vacation and get a deal. What I am saying is take opportunities to appear on hotels / tours / travel package websites in those cities/countries that are legitimate and relevant to your business.

Two things happen - you appear on sites in different countries and regions that you legitimately do business in and you increase chances of appearing for location based searches because you appear on sites in those countries and regions.

Does this make sense?

My suggestion would be to leave it alone and give Google time to recognize changes. You are appearing for me in my Maps search, and for my branded search.

Give the changes time to take effect and all should be fine.

I would update your title tags, however, and make sure that the title represents what the page contains, because right now, it's extremely random. Also, your spelling - appointment is spelled "appoitment" on your site. I would do a run through and make sure that your spelling and grammar are correct.

There are quite a few on-site SEO issues to resolve. When you type in the www. version of your site, a cached version of your site appears, which is very different than your non www. version. You also have a duplicate website that needs to be shut down and removed - this site seems to have been made to capitalize on local service searches. It's almost gibberish on some pages!

Lastly, you can look into services like Moz Local and Whitespark to help you build citations specific to your business category, as well as location. Google and other search engines use this information to return their local search results, so you should definitely take advantage of it!

There is a lot here that I listed, so if you need help, check out the Recommended List from Moz, as there are a lot of talented professionals that can get you going in the right direction.

There should not be a trailing at the end of this URL. This needs to be fixed as soon as possible.

I would also make sure that your non www. sitemap redirects to https://www.compleetverkleed.nl/sitemap_index.xml.

This should clear up your problem. Make sure this URL reflects in your Google and Bing Webmaster Tools.

Totally agree with Logan here. I would also make sure that you update your sitemap XMLs to include the new subdomain URLs, and also make sure your internal links are updated as well. If you are able to update high value links to the old subdomain to the new subdomain, that would be hugely beneficial as well.

It really comes down to doing proper research based on what your users are searching for and making sure your content and on-site SEO are a reflection of those searches and finding variations of those queries/keywords.

It will take a bit of manual labor and research, but again, it will pay dividends in the long run.

You can take a look at business listings through Whitespark and Service Area Maps through Google.

I would also take a look at different local business listings or citations that you can get through various city or art/photography partnerships. Do you work with local businesses that would be willing to lend testimonials?

You should also take a look at this resource from Moz.

It's not bad that you don't have a address listed, but it will make your job a bit harder. If your onsite and content allude to Melbourne and businesses in that area, you should be just fine. Remember to take advantage of image schema and sitemaps as well, so you can add descriptions and titles alluding to Melbourne or various local areas.

I would ask that all press releases that link to you be "nofollow" - Google has some thoughts on this sort of thing, because it will appear on multiple sites.

Keep in mind, a nofollow link still provides value if the site the link is on provides traffic and value to the users that see it. If it doesn't, then you shouldn't want the link to begin with. Don't be afraid of nofollow links, just make sure they are relevant and beneficial to your site and whoever will see the link.

I would not be redirecting your homepage to a keyword page. What I would do is put on-page SEO efforts into the /keyword page so that users that are searching for that keyword can land on the proper page. The homepage, I would focus on branded and who your business is / what you do content. Link off to internal pages like your /keyword page and others, they will thrive off the organic equity your homepage builds. Not to mention, most of your branded mentions / listings are going to go to your homepage.

Traffic for a homepage is usually reserved for branded and high level topical keywords revolving around what your business does, so redirecting it loses that piece of your SEO strategy. I would really and strongly focus on doing this. Reason being, most of your traffic is going to come through your homepage. If you eliminate that branded and traffic equity, it could be detrimental to your user experience / brand equity.

Unless I'm completely misunderstanding, it sounds like a waste of efforts and a shortcut in SEO efforts that could backfire. Search engines are smart. Play the game correctly and all will end right.

Local SEO Domain / Page Authority

Reason being, you're a local business that thrives on local search. I would tie up any loose ends there.

I would also focus on learning the basic ins and outs of SEO so that you can take advantage of fundamental tactics to assist in your search visibility.

Moz Academy is a fantastic resource that has a ton of great information to help build a solid plan for you and your business online.

Lastly, I would take a look at the Recommended Companies from Moz if you require further assistance.

There's no clear cut answer to ranking and beating competition. It's a lot of different facets and factors to ranking in search. I would make sure you read those resources above and take a look at the technical SEO checklist.

Ultimately, if you're creating great content on your website and are collecting great links to the internal pages of your website, then the entire domain will be performing better overall, increasing domain authority. What you're describing here sounds like you have a few relatively optimized pages that are standing well on their own. I would not say that the other 95 pages are providing much value to the other 5.

What I would do is take a good look at your website (and do it regularly), focusing on structuring your website and optimizing your pages in a way that makes sense for the users and from a crawlability standpoint. From there, I'd begin focusing on developing strong content that's relevant to those users you are trying to target and distribute that content in a way that garners quality backlinks that point back to your website. Doing this will help not only the page, but the entire domain.

I wouldn't remove pages just because they had issues. Some of that content may hold value, it's just a matter of making sure that your on-site SEO is unique to those pages. Your users maybe searching for it - make sure you research and tailor those pages to your user's intent.

Google also offers advice on duplicate content, including parameters and dynamic pages, so make sure you read through that before you just start discarding pages/content.

What are the local directories? Usually those types of directories (if they are legit) have a customer support or help center if you forgot your usernames and passwords - try your best to contact those directories and get them updated. That should be step one.

The only way to "get the top spots" in Google is to make sure your site abides by SEO best practices, that great content is being written, and that you are building great backlinks. If you are conducting proper keyword research for your content, then you should be able to find a healthy balance between the language your target audience uses and what keywords get a healthy amount of search volume in search engines. Use these words / phrases naturally in your content and you'll be just fine.

Remember - Google is fantastic and making connections between topics and variations. If you are able to write your content that methodically uses these keywords, and your pages are optimized, then look into your link building strategy to begin distributing your content more effectively.

Also - don't forget to be conduct ongoing audits of your website as this will help / hinder ongoing search engine performance.

If you are getting traffic and conversions still on your old site, leave it up and build equity in your new site by taking the steps above. But that's a business decision for you and your team. I don't know anything about how your site is performing other than what you have told me here.

Branded domains tend to do better than exact match domains, especially as search engines crack down on exact match. Just something to consider. Here are some best practices from Moz.

If you have other locations listed on your website you can use Schema markup to indicate more than one location where you do business if you have two addresses. You can also look into use the branchOf attribute.

Beyond that, you can look into Service-area businesses on Google, although I don't think that will really cover what you need. I would look into Moz Local or Whitespark to indicate your storefront business location as well as areas you serve. Business listings will ask you that sometimes.

I would indicate on your website (if it's necessary and natural) what areas you serve as well.
