Actions to take when client is missing local SEO usernames and passwords
-
Hello,
I'm doing an SEO analysis for a company and they told me that they do not have their local SEO usernames and passwords that they have already done. They did about 20 local directories and switched business models and needs to correct them without the usernames and passwords.
I do not specialize in local SEO, and I would simply start from scratch, but what else can I tell them about doing a good job rebuilding with a new business model without the 20 usernames and passwords.
Thanks,
Bob

Hi there
What are the local directories? Usually those types of directories (if they are legit) have a customer support or help center if you forgot your usernames and passwords - try your best to contact those directories and get them updated. That should be step one.
Here are a couple of great resources from Moz on local SEO:
Local SEO Audit (Moz)
How to Have a Successful Local SEO Campaign in 2015 (Moz)
The 2014 Local Search Ranking Factors (Moz)
Everybody Needs Local SEO (Moz)Also - don't forget that Moz Local offers managed listings, so if anything ever needs to change or be updated, it's all there for you!
All of these will hopefully give you more than enough ammo in your discussion. Hope this helps! Good luck!

Can I ask you a quick question Patrick?
This all seems for businesses with a physical location. What about local businesses that have an address that changes often?
Thanks.

Hi there
Can you provide a little more context? Is this a service business? Google has Service-area businesses that you can look into - here's another resource on that.
If you could frame up the business a bit more - what it does, why it moves - that would be helpful in my assistance to you!
Let me know - thanks!
