Just wait it out, don't think removing the comment will help you anyways as G still has it indexed... did your traffic drop or anything?

RE: Indeed reviews
This seems to be what you are looking for: http://blog.indeed.com/2015/03/05/responding-to-company-reviews-2-examples-from-real-employers/
Excerpt: To begin responding to your company reviews, you’ll first need to claim your Indeed Company Page. Search for your company and select “Business Owner?” on the Company Page. Once you’ve been verified, navigate to the Reviews tab. There, you’ll be able to leave your responses to the reviews people have written.

RE: Content Aggregator Services....good or bad for seo?
If your website is just syndicated content, it will hurt your seo. But if you are doing your own activities and add in articles from other places around the web (which creates a beneficial user experience), it can help you get more readers and links.
I would not expect that the aggregated content would rank well on your website as it is just a duplicate from another site that deserves rankings for related keyphrases.

RE: Incorrect URL shown in Google search results
Sounds like its picking up breadcrumbs and displaying those instead. Care to share the URL?

RE: Stuck on page 2
What have you been doing the past couple of months? Disavowing a lot of links won't bring back the authority you used to have before you were hit with the penalty, so don't expect to bounce back to your old rankings.
Here is what you should be doing:
- Create additional high quality, unique, topic relevant content that uses authoritative sources and displays the information in a way that is easy to understand and easy to share.
- Find outlets that would be interested in the new high quality content and politely present them with it in a way that would give them value.
- Rinse and repeat
Do that for a few months and let me know if you are still stuck.

RE: Does embedding Yelp reviews hurt SEO?
If you are adding the embed code to a page that already has a good amount of unique content, it shouldn't have any major effect on SEO.
Pros: more relevant content, updated frequently, great for UX/CRO
Cons: decreases page speed, non-unique content (if its a small part of the total content, shouldn't be an issue)

RE: Wordpress log attempt spam?
You can install something like https://wordpress.org/plugins/better-wp-security/
There are settings to auto-block people after a certain amount of incorrect logins (or blacklist).
I also recommend changing some Wordpress defaults (like the login/register page) which will help prevent lots of bots.

RE: Duplicate Content Issues :(
If they are the same model/specs but only color/band changes, it should be 1 product page with multiple options.
So you'd have the mens-rolex-air-king-stainless-steel-date-watch page and have different dropdown options for the dial (blue, silver), options for the band (stainless steel, leather)
In the actual category page, I would still display each version of the watch but link to the same page with a variable so that the correct options are preselected. Then be sure to set a canonical on the product page to avoid any duplicate content issues.

RE: DA hasn't Moved over
DA = Moz. Much slower crawl rate and index updates so DA will take longer to update. Not to mention you only have 1 backlink in OSE so you really shouldn't be worried about DA. Your 301 redirects seem fine so everything should go smoothly. What more important is what your organic traffic is looking like.

RE: Duplicate content issues... en-gb V en-us
You will want to set up multilingual hreflang tags across all pages.
This will essentially tell crawlers "each of these URLs are actually the same 'page'. You should show the correct version based on the location of the visitor" which prevents them from treating it as duplicate content.

RE: Pagination causing duplicate content problems
Yep. You don't add it per link though, its just a tag you add within the section of the page.

RE: Rel=author WP Plugin
Yoast WP SEO plugin has the ability to set a publisher URL for the site and each author can have their own G+ author link set up. rel=author/me setup
For the "about the author" at the end of the post, that is done via themes or you can install a author bio plugin.

RE: 301 redirects in Wordpress vs. making old posts that you no longer want your audience to see private.
Yes, you should 301 redirect to the new pages. Otherwise, you will lose all of the authority you built to your old pages.
Even though the page is private, Google will continue still visit the link from any links on the web/history of crawling.

RE: Outgoing Links Best Practice
Leave them as index/follow. You'd only use nofollow for links for irrelevant, non-reviewed links (i.e. blog comments, forum sigs). If you are linking to a useful page that's relevant to your users, keep the link ecology flowing!

RE: When does it make sense to make a meta description longer than what's considered best practice?
Sure, it could match the search term and move around to display in serps but it won't help with ranking. The other downside is now instead of a complete message (which is the goal of a meta desc), you are letting G decide what parts to show and may not get your message across as you would like.
Ideal scenario is using the keywords within the max meta description length. No harm in going over, just not the best case scenario.

RE: Will changing a URL negatively affect ranking?
Agreed with one note... its a really bad idea if you are already ranking for the terms you like to. There will definitely be a period of time where you will lose your rankings and although they should return to their previous rankings, Google is fickle.
So if you aren't ranking in the top 50 for several terms, simply changing the URL won't get you to the first page (it may get you into the top 50 though). You would need to update the content and backlinks (internal + external) to see worthwhile movement. Otherwise you just risk losing ranking for the terms you currently do well for.

RE: Redirecting to Modal URLs
Search engines won't index anchor URLs so that's not an option.
Does the staff category page have the bios loaded into the HTML on page load? If so, redirect to the staffers category page. If not, you need to come up with another solution (where the bio content is on a page(s) that can be indexed).

RE: Q&A Page Titles
I recommend you keep the title long as is and let google cut it based on the keywords searched. Editing those titles to a certain length and keep them making sense isn't scalable.
- long title tag = text gets cut off in serps, not worse for SEO but worse for CTR
- page heading and page title not matching won't hurt your SEO.

RE: How search engines look at collapse content in mobile while on desktop it open by default?
Currently, Google only looks at the desktop version of the page for it's index so collapsing for mobile would have no effect on rankings.
In general, Google says that hidden/collapsible content is given less weight than visible since its not considered as important for users to see.

RE: Advertorials?
I would not worry about it unless it is the main reason for your current rankings. If advertorials isn't part of your link building strategy, then having 1 most likely won't boost your rankings by a lot and won't get you penalized by G.
If you are really worried, you can just ask to have the link nofollowed.
