Html text versus a graphic of a word
Hello,
How much better for rankings is an html text heading (H1 text of a word at the top of a page) than a graphic of the word with an alt tag?
Thank you!

RE: Fewer keywords in title tag?
William,
I have to disagree with your answer. Title tags are very relevant to rankings. Here is a quote from SEOmoz at http://www.seomoz.org/learn-seo/title-tag:
"Creating a descriptive, keyword-laden title tag is important for increasing rankings in search engines. The screen shot below comes from SEOmoz's survey of 37 influential thought leaders in the SEO industry on the search engine ranking factors. In that survey, 35 of the 37 participants said that keyword usage in the title tag was the **most important **place to use keywords to achieve high rankings."

Fewer keywords in title tag?
Hello,
I have a title tag that includes three keywords and has a total of 59 characters. The third keyword is not very important. If I eliminated the third keyword, leaving the first two (for a total of 48 characters), would the ranking value of the first two keywords increase? Does including the third keyword dilute the value of the first two?
Thank you!

Google Keyword Tool
Hello,
Is the Google Keyword Tool the only reliable source for stats on keyword search volume on Google? The tool returns "no data" results for keywords I would expect to have some, if not much, search volume. I would like to cross-check these results, if possible.
Thanks!

Local searches
If a page is optimized for certain search terms that have "nyc" at the end of them, will that help the page appear when someone in NYC searches for the terms without the "nyc" part?
Thank you!

RE: Too many outbound links on a page?
Thank you, Colin. No, I don't care about passing rank to the clients. Yes, the rest of the site is real content.
I appreciate your thoughts!

RE: Too many outbound links on a page?
Thank you very much, Nakul. Do you think there is an SEO value to our having these outbound links on our page?

Too many outbound links on a page?
We have a "Clients" page on our site with approximately 125 of our clients listed. We have a link to each client's website, so that's 125 links. I am rethinking this approach. Is there any value to having these outbound links?
The SEOmoz PRO analysis tells me I have too many links on this page. I have read that more than 100 links on a page is too many, but that seemed to be referring to internal links.
Any thoughts? Thanks!

Posting content from our books to our website
Hello,
I am the newly appointed in-house seo person for a small business.
The founders of our company have written several books, which we sell. But book sales are a small part of our business. We are considering posting to our website some or all of the content of the books. This content is directly relevant to the existing content of our website and would be available for free to all visitors.
1. Is it likely that the traffic and links to the new book pages would improve the search engine rankings of our existing pages?
2. We already have pdf versions of each book we could post, which are formatted nicely. Should we convert these to html to make them more friendly to search engines?
3. Of course, we would have to split each book into multiple web pages, perhaps one chapter per page. How much content could each new page optimally accommodate?
4. Would it be more valuable from an SEO perspective to post pieces of the books over time in a blog format?
Thank you very much for your thoughts!
