Hi Colin, Sorry for the spelling mistake the first response was off my phone. I have fixed the error (removed the s) in the above answer. I added the same line to htaccess and you can try the redirection for yourself. f4240.com/index.cfm and attached my htaccess as a file for reference. If you are still struggling I would do the following. Comment out all other code in htaccess temporarily if there is anything (comment by adding # at start of line) to isolate the issue. Ensure that there is no additional white space in the line. EG/ no additional spaces at end of line etc If you still have no joy, consult your hosting company as they may block htaccess from functioning correctly. Dan htaccess.png

Hi Colin, Login to wordpress admin panel then go to setting -> General and in that change put WordPress Address (URL) = http://www.nile-cruises-4u.co.uk/  and Site Address (URL) = http://www.nile-cruises-4u.co.uk/ Hope this helps you...

I agree with Robert. There could be multiple other factors. The search landscape has changed and evolved drastically in the last 10 years. And it will continue to. The economy adds to the competition because everybody is trying to get online and get a piece of the pie. You are definitely as the right place in terms of trying to figure it out. I would suggest getting an SEO Audit done as well as a competition analysis and create a plan for the next 3-6-12 months to regain your position, strengthen your domain, brand and do whatever it takes to get back on top. What it would take, depends on what your competition is doing. I hope this helps.

This will be my first post on SEOmoz so bear with me The way I understand it is that robots read the robots.txt file from top to bottom, and once they find a rule that applies to them they stop reading and begin crawling.  So basically the robots.txt written as: User-agent:* Disallow: Crawl-delay: 20 User-agent: 008 Disallow: / would not have the desired result as user-agent 008 would first read the top guideline: User-agent: * Disallow: Crawl-delay: 20 and then begin crawling your site, as it is first being told that All user-agents are disallowed to crawl no pages or directories. The corrected way to write this would be: User-agent: 008 Disallow: / User-agent: * Disallow: Crawl-delay: 20

If you wish to speed up the process, change the header response to 410 instead of 404 for any pages you know are gone.
