RE: How much of an issue is it if a site is somehow connected to a site that was penalized by Google?
Panda seems to have effect at the domain URL level. So as long as the sites are different, as in not the same domain, then you should be fine. Would be crazy if not due to all the shared hosting accounts.

RE: Tittle + keywords = ?
Always better to focus a page on less so that you can do more.
I would have term one and then brand signals for your title tag. I would consider this the best option and just create a couple more pages. Unless they are extremely extremely close keywords like blue widget and blue widgets.

RE: Website Development Company Needed
You might want to post the job on a site like authenticjobs.com (high quality) but it will cost a couple hundred for the post. Any time I need extremely high quality that is where I go, If you dont find anything there than try posting on the jobs section on seomoz.

RE: Will Google Places put ranking weight on google reviews instead of 3rd party now?
I have to agree with you. We generally try to push customers to about 4 review sites Google Yelp City search And a specific vertical review site. I do think that eventually more weight will be given to google reviews simply to push business to use their service but I. Think a company would be foolish to put all eggs in the places review basket when they have such a problem with losing reviews and support.

RE: Sudden drop in rakings for a keyword.
Site wide footer links are border line. They work.... But they dint look very natural. You need more than just those.

Completely agree on the Citation point. They dont provide solid info on the places page so it makes sense that they have been pulled like mymaps were. I am just wondering about thoughts on reviews from 3rd party sites vs. reviews on Google. The approach has been to diversify your reviews to mutlple sites for rankings and also for "keeping eggs out of one basket". Wondering if many are going to switch strategy based on latest info.

RE: Sudden drop in rakings for a keyword.
I think you should probably just correct the links and try to get a bunch of natural going on. You might find that is enough without a request. And unless you were de-indexed completely you generally can fix filters but correcting whatever is keeping you in the filter.

Will Google Places put ranking weight on google reviews instead of 3rd party now?
WIth the visual update to Google Places over the past 2 days do you think that Google reviews will become a higher ranking factor as compared to 3rd party reviews. The research I have done shows that 3rd party reviews seem to correlate better with higher rankings..Any thoughts on what might be coming down the road?

RE: Hosting companies - recommendations?
Dreamhost is solid. Outside of them HostGator is probably the next best best. I wouldn't use any of the ones you have listed.

I am slightly shocked and simply amused that the recent Google Venice Update has largely flown under the radar. The Inside Search Blog published a list of 40 some-odd changes to the algorithm for February, and it seems that Panda 3.3 and the mysterious one liner about link valuation captivated most of the SEO and Inbound world...
