Are there different tactics to optimize for Bing vs. Google?
Bing doesn't really have an equivalent for Panda or Penguin, so some of the tactics that used to work in Google (which will now harm you) can still work in Bing. Both sites take into account similar ranking factors but have different indices and different weightings for the factors. I like to think of Bing as being 1-2 years behind Google in terms of sophistication.

Are there discrepancies between GWT and SEOMoz?
That makes MUCH more sense. I'll Google it a bit and see what others have to say. Thanks Keri!

Good idea to point all registered domains to main site?
SEO benefit? Nah, nothing. But redirecting the .com and .co.uk sites is probably better for the customer. I'm speaking as someone who used to hate when typing in twitter.co.uk sent me to a crappy MFA page (but somehow never remembered that I wanted the .com). If you've already got the domains what else are you going to do with them?

Do you use a different tactic to optimize for Bing?
Hi! I see that a good part of your reply is based off of this October 2010 blog post at http://sixrevisions.com/content-strategy/seo-for-bing-versus-google/. I'd love to see any more recent information that you might have, as well as personal experience.

Huge Increase in Search Traffic - Expected Drop in Conversions?
I run a custom report in GA that looks at landing page by keyword and try to make some sense out of that. Do you have any better custom GA Reports? As far as your other points, they are all very valid and we've been considering them. I am a proponent of gaining insight through the customer voice - as long as it is not viewed as being intrusive. Thanks in advance for your response.

Anyone have experience with the eTail Conference (upcoming 2/27-3/1/12)?
Hmmm, just looked it over. Not to be too negative, but I couldn't help but notice that a significant number of their speakers are from companies that are not performing well and/or are on a downward spiral: Barnes & Noble, AOL, and Amtrak.

Why would a site w/lower metrics across the board have the highest DA?
Hi JP Moulin, Thanks for your question. Rand and The Back Burner already did a good job explaining some things about PA/DA so I'll stick to looking at the numbers. I looked at the top level metrics for these four sites in Open Site Explorer: Site PA DA # Linking Root domains # Links www.nahoku.com 51 41 196 3695 www.mauidivers.com 53 43 228 4274 www.jared.com 59 51 283 871 www.hawaiianjewelryshop.com 60 52 325 5890 These look pretty well ordered based on these numbers to me (more links + linking domains => higher PA/DA) with the possible exception of www.jared.com which is a bit of an outlier with 283 linking root domains and only 871 links. In this case, the domain links are boosting it's PA/DA. The new model prefers metrics associated with link diversity/domain signals (linking root domains, linking C-blocks, etc) over the old one and this is what's happening with www.jared.com.

What is an infographic? And how is it used for SEO?
Visual Economics pretty much explains it all. 97th Floor is the king of infographics if you ask me.

Keyword Significance
Thanks Dan. Actually, it is exactly what our site is about, and we are getting ranked for all kinds of non-branded keywords. Happy days! I didn't think of the indexing possibility and tipping the scale. I'd be interested to hear what else people say. Thanks again!
