First things first, I did check all web addresses. They all exist. You probably need to provide more detail whether or not you are using a CMS for your web pages.

All 3 pages have different page authority. That is, one of the version is ranking higher than the other versions. I did a quick check of that via Moz toolbar. Looks like the index.html has the highest authority.

Note that all 3 versions you listed, has 2 other versions. The one with the www, and the one without the www. Judging from the moz toolbar, looks like you rank better for the one without the 'www' . Rel canonical is is good option, but in this case I would try to do a 301 redirect from the server side first. Again, not sure how much access you have to the server side. You might need to contact your web admin.host company etc.

Example. you have www.example.com/page1.htm, /page2.htm, page3.htm. They all have same exact content. Lets say that pag1.htm is your main version. You can do the following in the header section of page2, and page 3.htm

"This tag tells Bing and Google that the given page should be treated as though it were a copy of the URL www.example.com/pag1.htm/ and that all of the links and content metrics the engines apply should actually be credited toward the provided URL."

I would recommend not to delete all the other version, but instead do a 301 redirect, or a rel canonical, as they all of some kind of page authority, except index.html has the highest. (the non www version). But you need to make that decision. But looks like that's what you want to be the main one anyway.

You cannot control the www and non www versons of your website, but you can control, making duplicate pages, especially of your home page. I am guessing that that is something that was done by your CMS. Index.html was probably done by you. FURTHERMORE, I think .com/ & .com is the one and the same thing. and you probably had to decide, when you were making a new campaign in moz. They probably asked you to put down your web address for your domain, and your probably put something like, "balloonsutah.com"Not exactly sure, why it showed you .com & .com/, but it makes sense that they would show you, .com, and /index.html, as they are two different pages, even though it has the same content. It still is two different URL's.

I probably wouldn't worry too much about it. But I'll let one of the moz members answer about .com &.com/. I would perhaps concern myself more about 301 redirects, and rel canonicals.

I am sure, you guys must be aware that Google has updated their webmaster technical guidelines saying that users should allow access to their css files and java-scripts file if it's possible. Used to be that Google would render the web pages only text based. Now it claims that it can read the css and java-scripts. According to their own terms, not allowing access to the css files can result in sub-optimal rankings. "Disallowing crawling of Javascript or CSS files in your site’s robots.txt directly harms how well our algorithms render and index your content and can result in suboptimal rankings."http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2014/10/updating-our-technical-webmaster.htmlWe have allowed access to our CSS files. and Google bot, is seeing our webapges more like a normal user would do. Hope my answer helps you. I am still kind of a beginner. Other professionals, feel free to correct my answer.

Here's what I think. There is no exact definition on number of times you should use a keyword. But if you look at the language, lot of times you can tell it is keyword stuffing. Think about it this way. With semantic search, knowledge graph, contextual meanings, schema markups, Search engines have become really smart to know what content relates to what. By over using the keyword, you are actually failing to provide meaning to your content. There are other details that go with it, such as what do people usually click on when they search for "office space in NY" etc, what do other people link to etc.

The language should be conversational. Using the word office space multiple times is actually taking away the opportunity to mention other things. It could be something like square feet details, paint colors, lease time etc.

Google has clearly said that Google is for users, not webmasters, or websites. Why do you think they made the whole meta keywords irrelevant?

I am probably trying to confirm your doubt that yes you are most likely keyword stuffing. Also, you are making it more obvious by making the texts bold. Google would more likely find something else that provides more value.

It is definitely able to read the alt tags, as you know, and other tags. Alt tags is usually for crawlers, and other screen reader software to decipher what the image is about. I would probably stick to alt texts not more than a sentence.

It is also able to read href's, and the anchor text it contains. Nobody exactly knows how exactly Google functions, but from experience, I want to say, href is definitely a part of their ranking algorithm. The URL structure matters too. For example, www.example.com/ny-office-space.htm will make more sense then a randomly generated url that is something like, www.example.com/123456-space.htm

I would probably try to think differently about content. Having a diverse language is probably more beneficial, as far as it is relevant, and it is even more beneficial if you go above and beyond. For example if your topic focus is "apples", it is good to talk about apples, but it would be better if you talk about history of apples, different kinds of apples etc.

I would think about having a diverse language in terms of how it would benefit users, or people who search on the web. I would probably not think about having a diverse language just because you can rank. Obviously that is the goal, but Having that thought process might actually hinder your ability to provide good valuable content. If your content is good, Google will definitely rank. Not sure if everyone will agree to this.

Also, I would probably do something like how hard it is to rank for "Office space", and that in NY. sometimes also because of high competition, you might need to up your game even more. Moz, has a "Keyword difficulty tool" which can help you determine that.

You can also in your webmaster tools see how Googlbot reads, or fetches your content for the home page. Lot of times, things could be inadvertently be blocked in robots.txt. For example if you are blocking the whole images folder, and your CSS, javascripts etc, are in the same folder, Google will not be able to read your content the way a normal user sees your content. Making google read your content as close to as a user does, will probably help you more!

The question probably needs more detailed answers. All other professionals can feel free to add/correct. I personally feel that your page is not spammy, but it is, if not more, slightly keyword stuffed.

first of all dont panic. don't make any crazy adjustments.

step one: breathe.

step two: edit your meta description that sounds natural to someone in maysville will want to click on.

step three: edit the h1 and h2 as per instructed in my first post

step 4: add your website to any maysville directories or whatever county or state that it's in, specifying Maysville.

step 5: join a Maysville community forum and be involved. Let them know what services are available to the residents.

step 6: repeat for the other keywords you want.

step 7: realize if you have 100s of keywords, narrow that down and cater to those keywords or make them broad enough to where you can at least land on the first page for all of them.

step 8: create a google plus page for your website. Just one, and create the content stating you cater to said areas ie..maysville,smallsville,gotham,metropolis, etc..

step 9: wait a few weeks to be re-indexed.

step 10: relax and enjoy the seomoz community.

Edit your content to not have Maysville as the main word in a seoquake tag cloud. if you dont know or use seoquake check it out. google it.

I understand you are being outranked by others with little or zero content, but what are they also doing that you're not? If they are not back linking, could they be on directories?

Your meta description is too robot like. you need to fix your description to read to someone who actually wants your service.

Your h1 tag should be more than two words: Akins Plumbing has been servicing Maysville for past 25 years<that's decent.="" replace="" that="" where="" your="" h2="" is.<="" p=""></that's>

You bold Maysville way too much, in a sense overkill. I'd recommend removing those big bold words, since people do get the point that you provide plumbing services to Maysville.

Except for the fact that Maysville seems to be in every sentence. People get the point it's for Maysville from the first paragraph, guess what, so does google. Cut back on that.

just a few sugguestions: you will need to back link, you don't any on OSE. I've noticed alot of your competition are just directory websites. You may want to look into that as a resource.

Run SeoMoz Reports on your keywords and your website. And pay close attention to the results.

yep. you're right. I think i was very tired at the point that i read it(I do a lot researching and reading on seo).

In theory the Google Penguin Update should look at that site and say "that's not right, what does vacation rental, and computers have to do with hotels?"

One reason that Google hasn't done anything about it is because it probably has not re-crawled the page, or it by-passed with enough content before the links at the bottom of the page.

To answer your question: Yes. You can use backlink software.

Should you use them? No.

generally most backlink software will backlink to non-relevant sites with low domain scores, which usually have been spammed to death.

If you want your site(s) to rank poorly or even de-index, this is a great way of doing it.

Other ways of getting in trouble:

commenting on forums

posting on blogs

using exact keywords in anchor texts

So what works:

being an active member in forums or blogs related to your niche topic

look for high domain authority sites in your niche and ask to be a contributor..just don't let it go against google's policies.

Create content that engages users to want to share, whether it's informative or interesting.

have the reviewers take pictures and post them on pinterest with a snippet of information, linking back to your bag site.

Also take a look at to see how many comments these blogs receive and if there's potential to guest blog on their sites promoting your product.

Following ethical white hat practices against a non white hat is a sure way of fail. There aren't that many stories of how white hat prevails,and if they do it's usually on a non-competitive keyword like toilet seat covers.

Sadly, in a high competitive market on the good old wild wild web, you do have to step out of what a community deems "ethical" and go into what works. Fight fire with fire is all I can say. PM if you want some suggestions.

If you have $5k to blow, build a better site using half that money, and look into SEO yourself. My two cents. I spend about 4 hours daily researching sometimes. It's amazing what you can do with a little research.
