This is a matter of dilution in your title, I think that density of the title still matters but not when talking about preposition, if my title stays in the 70 words limit I'll stick with the grammar proof title but if you need to save space a preposition may go out. Consider that you may want to rank high for both the keyword with and without the preposition, however my assumption is for new sites when you have to kick off the site.

If you're already ranking in top3 I won't risk lowering my rankings by changing the title tag, also because tweak the title without any other effective change in the page would give google signals of seo tactics which won't help you at all.

If you're ranking good then let the title as it is. Winning team doesn't change

I think I don't understand clearly. You mean that "your" site has been returning a 500 during more than 2 months?

Than it's normal that google may have deindexed it, don't forget that google main task is to return to users the best results so they threat 404 and 500 the same in that sense. Maybe you can consider filing a reconsideration request if, after having solved every issue you can't see your site raising again into google serps where it was before.

If you have clear which are your main competitors you can track their top keywords using http://www.semrush.com/

It really depends on which are your purposes. 99% of the tiem remarketing campaigns are pointing to direct response goals. In that sense it may be best to use CPC bidding to better calculate your ROI.

If your remarketing campaign are for branding purposes then a CPM may be the best way to be sure your ad is getting the highest exposure possible.

I think that CPC is the best model in terms of ROI calculations, just depends if you have catchy banners with your phone/branded so you want them to be shown as much as possible or if you have text links pointing to your best converting page.

Moreover. I remember that google translates CPC bids into eCPM ones when competing which means that if your CTR is really low you may risk of paying even more than by bidding with CPM. I can't reckon the exact formula, maybe someone can help here, but I remember that if your CTR is lower than 0,10% you may consider CPM since you're paying much less for 1 click than for a thousand impressions. (need more insight on this)

Export your db, then in excel you can easily spot the titles longer than 70 chars and edit them to be shorter than that.

linking to the http://www.domain.com is the same as linking to / just develop the way which best suits your needs. The most important thing to do to avoid duplicate issues is to set the 301 to redirect everything to the same page thing you've already done so really there is no difference in that. About using the full url there's no issue on google seeing that as an external link since it's poiting to the same domain. hope this helps!

an html sitemap is always a good idea to be sure that google will easily find all your pages, however if you structure well your website being sure that all the pages are not more than 3 clicks away from your home google wille asily find them all.

tradedoubler is the widest affiliation database in the net. you only have to set up your banners and the commission, that easy. However when it comes to affiliation I'd prefer to spot the best sites and contact them directly.

Also you may consider google GDN, in that way you'll easily spot good performing website to contact them directly or just to achieve more traffic, Using banners you should be able to pass the gambling filter.

if you have a plugin to set your titles you can update your database using excel just be sure to use the len function to be sure that the new titles are shorter than 70 chars.

In my experience I'll go google translate for a fast and cheap start. After the soft launch you can start hiring translators for the best performing websites and when they'll start giving you revenue they'll be paying their translation themselves. I won't rely on low cost services since they won't be providing that quality translations which in these panda days is required, remember that if a user sees grammar errors they'll be more susceptible of bouncing back to serp and this may be negatiely affecting your rankings in the long term too. If you want a good return you'll ahve to spend a bit.

Travis is right, semrush will give you that kind of information (and a bit of it for free) with that tool you can also see if that is paid traffic or organic one.

I think that IP filters are the only way to go. If you want to be sure that those visits are bots you should look into your logfiles and see if they come from the same ip and in which time range (if they're all in a couple of minutes for example). If you don't want to add that much filters you can put a forbidden rule in your htaccess so whenever that ip tries to visit your website you'll be returning a 403 in that way the visit won't be tracked. Beware of doing this kind of things because if there are users in the middle of that ip range you'll be affecting their experience too.

Hi Niki, I think that your strategy to maintain the url short is good, it's always best to give short urls if they're descriptive enough. Normally the best thing to do is to give to users an URL which let them understand what a page is about without clicking into it, this may be beneficial also in linkbuilding since people linking to you with your url will involve also some traffic if the linking site is thematically related.

About the structure I think that 3 categories are not that much, it really depends on how many products or child pages you have. The best thing to do is to organize them in a way which is thematically organized having all your page not more than 3-4 clicks away from your home, in that way you'll be sure that google can easily find and crawl them frequently because a page deep in your website may not be found or crawled that much.

Ok, actually having set up the GWT makes google understand which one is the main address but it is not phisically redirected for the other Search Engines.

You'll have two different htaccess files. One in the .com site:

if you have the same url structure. If not:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule . http://www.piensapiensa.com [R=301,L]

And the other in the .es site:

RewriteRule (.*) http://www.piensapiensa.es/$1 [R=301,L]

this will make redirect everything to the www.piensapiensa.es version. HOpe this clarifies you everything. However I really recommend you to have a well trained webmaster doing this for you, because if you don't know how to edit an htaccess you can mess up your whole site.

Ok so if all the url are the same you can redirect the .es domain to the same page in the .com with

RewriteRule ^(.*) http://www.piensapiensa.com$1 [R=301,L] (I don't remember if you have a / or not in the rewrite base, so if this doesn't work try adding a / before $1)

If the new site has different pages fro mthe old one and you don't want to maintain them in the new one just redirect everything to the homepage.

What you'll need in your domain is a redirect like

Hi Sandra, don't worry about 404s volume because they won't hurt your rankings.

About your issue I understand that you want to be really clear with your users and don't hurt their experience on the site. So create a custom 404 which changes its content depending of what page is returning it. If it's one of your old product you can return a message or an article of why you decided to remove them and propose some alternatives. For all other errors you can just return a search box or related products to the one you lost.

301 IMHO are not the way to go, if an url is gone it has not being redirected anywhere, so a 301 will result in a bad UX 99% of the time.

if those pages are all in the same directory are in a couple of them you can remove them using the removal from index tool in gwt, in order to make this those pages should return a 404 or being noindexed (which is what you already did).
