SEO Value for Visitor Comments on WordPress Blog
UGC or User Generated Content can be extremely powerful and add huge weighting to your sites SEO value, but it also has a another effect that helps with customer credibility. As users come along and see real comments that are related to the topic, offer advice, show valued reviews etc it will then results in your content becoming potentially becoming an authority on specific subjects. Take these Moz Questions for example - some of the questions can be very small and to the point, but it is often the huge number of user generated responses that propels the questions up the search result page. So in essence UGC is extremely valuable - just ensure you lock down the bots and spammers and some types of user data (e.g. links, html etc) which can do the reverse and make you less credible as a source.

Hosting Multiple Websites Within The Same Server Space
It makes no difference, as long as they are viewed as separate accounts. If you have sites running out of directories of other sites then this can cause problems if the domain settings are not correct. Basically, make sure each account has its own Cpanel account, and you should be good to go. If they share the same IP address it makes no difference. If you are super worried about this, then I would assign a separate IP address for each account if you have WHM access.

Re-directing Multiple Sites to a Single Location
that by doing as much, they will increase their opportunities to rank for related KW terms This is, in fact, a misconception and a false assumption. Simply redirecting domain names will not increase rankings. In fact, if you redirect too many domain names it could hurt rankings and give the main site a penalty (we've seen it happen before). What I do recommend, however, is that you do your due diligence on all of the domain names that you're redirecting, as you could be redirecting a domain that has a penalty or low quality backlinks.

Is Having Content 'Above The Fold' Still Relevant for Website Design and SEO
Above the fold my site always has a title that perfectly matches the query, a seductive subtitle that I hope will elicit reading, a spectacular image that I am willing to spend big bucks for, and a carefully crafted opening paragraph that states the basics of the topic. What else is above the fold? Not much, just my domain name, which is killer. The page looks like a newspaper with the full intent that nothing else will detract from the content or the domain (there are a couple of visible ads that do not interfere with the content - that pay for this stuff). I know for a fact that having your relevant content above the fold is essential. Someone once designed me a fantastic template and the image at the top was killer killer killer... it was spectacular but irrelevant for most pages of the site. Visitors bounced and I had enough traffic at the time to know that it tanked within a couple hours. Ad revenue sucked too. I removed that image and the only thing left above the fold was the domain, the titles, the image and the text (and a couple ads that interfere with nothing). In the next 60 minutes the people started exploring the site and the ad revenue was up multiples. It's like some athletic events... run as close to naked as you can.

What's Going On with Moz Social
Hey there J.P.! Sorry for any confusion here. Without looking in your campaign it's hard to tell exactly what's going on. Does your campaign include the Social section? To be fully transparent, we actually removed access to Social tracking for all subscriptions created after November 1st 2015, so if you don't see a Social section at all that's the reason why. Here is an explanation of this decision from our product owner, Jon White: https://moz.com/community/q/can-t-access-social-overview If you have a Social section in your campaign but are currently unable to attach your social media accounts, I recommend reaching out to help@moz.com so we can take a look at the issue. I hope that helps!

Exporting KW Lists
It would also be great to be able to delete or add/manage labels from each individual line (keyword) in the list, versus having to check the box(es) to select the keywords and then scroll all the way to the top to hit delete or add label. If you have a long list you're managing, this is time consuming! Also, the ability to sort by header (keyword, labels, or location) would be helpful. Thanks!

Linkbuilding for Medical-Industry Sites
Great question! I would love to hear more answers to this as I have a client in medical waste disposal. I guess you can say I'm in a similar predicament with link-building :).

Client WIll Not Rank for Targeted KW Terms
Duplicate page titles Duplicate meta descriptions A number of page titles in the 80-100 character range = too long. Many WAY too long meta descriptions. Meta KWs usually act only as a negative ranking factor, if anything. You have a LOT of the same KWs & KW spam. Anchor text issues for all 4 words: newport, beach, plastic and surgeon. All way over optimised. Majestic historic shows a HUGE number of referring domains but a much, much smaller level of IPs - typically a spam signal so there may be even more in Search Console that needs clean up, removal or disavow. I would assume this site dropped initially during a Panda algo update at some point. It has a lot of content-quality issues and some anchor problems.

URL Structure's Effect on SEO
The way you structure the url has no impact on SEO performance (unless the url becomes very long & unreadable). The depth of a site has an impact (how many clicks do I need from the homepage to get to a page) but this is completely unrelated to the folder structure. A good article on why it's good to have a certain structure in your url can be found here: http://www.bruceclay.com/blog/structured-urls/ As changing URL's always carries a risk & doesn't bring SEO benefit I wouldn't change them just for the sake of changing them. URL Structure's Effect on SEO
Hi J.P., Page depth refers to the number of clicks it takes a user (or search engine) to get to a page from the home page. And yes, this can negatively impact SEO, as well as usability, if it takes too many clicks for users and search engines to get to a page. (Search engines may use up their crawl budget, while users may simply leave your site and go to one that is easier to find what the are looking for.) However, the number of clicks it takes to navigate to a page doesn't necessarily mirror the URL structure. So, in the example you give, the existing URL makes sense - http://www.domain.com/procedures/breasts/augmentation. It is readable, includes keywords, does not use special characters, avoid stop words, and isn't too long. If you were going to change the URL structure, I would go with http://www.domain.com/procedures/breastaugmentation over http://www.domain.com/breastaugmentation, unless the only procedure your client does is breast augmentation. But, seeing as there is not a compelling reason to change the URL structure, I would leave it as-is. Even if you perfectly plan and execute all 301-redirects and update every link, you are creating a lot of work for yourself (as well as anyone who links to you, as best practice would be to ask them to update the new link). Furthermore, 301-redirects are known to pass slightly less value over time. Of immediate concern, you should expect fluctuations in the site's performance in the SERPs when making any sitewide change such as this. For more information on best practices for URL structure, I recommend checking out this post by Rand Fishkin: https://moz.com/blog/15-seo-best-practices-for-structuring-urls. I hope that helps! Christy

Local Citation Building Services Similar to Yext
Hi J.P., Not that I can personally recommend, no, but I do hear other people speaking well of Bright Local as well if you want to pay per citation. However, I don't know if they do niche specific directories, as Whitespark does. P.S. This is Miriam writing, by the way, but I'm in Mozzer Alliance at the moment.

RE: Keep Losing Keyword Ranking Position for Targeted Keyword Terms Can't Figure It Out, Please Help!!!
Hi J.P.! I'm glad Matt is helping you; he knows his stuff. There's actually a Moz tool that could provide some insight, too—the Keyword Difficulty tool. It can give you an analysis of all the sites ranking 1-10 for any given keyword, including which factors are most likely to be helping them. You may be able to glean what's helping them pull ahead. I'd recommend Cyrus's video on the tool. Good luck!
