Hi Jake! Just checking in—were you able to work with our Support team on this issue, or are you able to share the name of the campaign you're referring to? I want to make sure you get an answer.

RE: External Ranking Help
Hi Matt!
We actually just ran a blog post specifically on getting through the SEO plateau. You can check it out here.
I'd also suggest checking out our Beginner's Guide to Link Building, which focuses on sustainable tactics to improve your link profile.
Best of luck!

RE: JavaScript page loader - SEO impact
Hi Luca! So sorry for the wait. Yes, Google is able to load, crawl, and index pages written in Javascript. There are mixed reports as to how well, exactly, but your research is correct.

RE: Should I add my company website to Applegate a free product and services directory?
I'd add that you'll want to make sure the directory is reasonably relevant to your business, and likely to send traffic to your site. Any ranking boost you'd get from a free directory would be negligible, so if it's not likely to send qualified visitors, I wouldn't bother.

RE: Onsite calendar throwing out thousands of pages
Hi Luke! It might help if you can let us know how the calendar is set up. Is it embedded from a third-party? Is it some sort of plugin? And what CMS are you using:
The more information you can provide about the calendar and your site, the better. Bonus points if you can provide some URLs.

RE: Home Page Ranking Instead of Service Pages
I have to agree on the link building suggestion. Often when I've heard folks complain about this issue it ends up being due to a dramatically stronger link profile for the home page. If you don't have relevant links pointing to the landing pages, it's quite likely the on-page optimization alone won't be enough.

RE: I've watched a few backlinks disappear from our inbound link search.
Hi there! It's very possible that this is due to our last couple of indexes being smaller than previously, which is an issue that we're hoping to resolve with our next release. You can read more about what happened here:

RE: Creating a site search engine while keeping SEO factors in mind
Hi there! My immediate thought is that search engine crawlers will have a tough time finding those old photos, anyway, if the only way to reach them is through your custom search. Crawlers don't run searches.

Will those images be on your sitemap?

RE: Basic SERP report does really gives me useful information?
Hi Endre! If you haven't you may want to try running a _full _SERP report on those terms using the blue button in the upper-right of that screenshot. It compares a lot more ranking factors, and might give you a better idea of what's going of.

RE: When will link farms and back sites be penalized or when will the website using them as backlinks be penalized?
Hi Deacyde! When you say they're showing as backlinks with link equity, do you mean they're showing up in Open Site Explorer? And would you be able to share the URL you're trying to analyze along with a few examples of the strange nofollow links?

RE: Splitting down pages
Personally, if the list of companies os going to stay the same, I'd keep it all to one page. Google is smart enough to see the topical similarity, and the risk of appearing spammy doesn't seem worth it.

RE: Some of my website urls are not getting indexed while checking (site: domain) in google
Hi Anoop! I agree with VERBInteractive—this is one of those questions that requires us to be able to see the site and the pages that aren't being indexed.

RE: Many of our best links are to our old domain. Problem?
It's generally accepted that most authority survives a 301 redirect, but it's certainly not all. How worth it it is is up to you, but you would see some boost in authority if those sites were to update their links to point directly at the newer domain. Hard to say whether that'd be enough to give you a genuine boost, though.

RE: Sitemap Migration - Google Guidelines
Hi there! I believe that Google is simply recommending that you make sure to have the new URL map, the old URL map, and a list of all your inbound links. Looks like how they're meant to be used comes up in the next steps. For example, the next page includes these steps (which I have completely removed from their contexts, so make sure to do things in the order Google outlines):
- On the destination site, submit the two sitemaps you prepared previously containing the old and new URLs. This helps our crawlers discover the redirects from the old URLs to the new URLs, and facilitates the site move.
and
- External links: Try to contact the sites in the saved list of sites linking to your current content, asking them to update their links to your new site.
The old and new sitemaps will be used by Google when first indexing your old site, and the list of external links is there to help you maintain your link profile.

Does that make sense?

RE: Ecommerce website - Transition from one subdomain to another. Please help!
Personally, I'd say to make 100% sure all your 301 redirects are placed properly, and that each old URL is redirected to the absolute best new URL to get the user what they're looking for.

RE: Links / Top Pages by Page Authority ==> pages shouldnt be there
Hi Endre! Would you be able to share the URL for your site and/or a screenshot of what you're seeing? That'd make it easier for folks to see what might be going on.
