It's actually fairly straightforward. People clicked on him and then the person mentioned in the meta description. I've taken screenshots of the meta description then then linkedinpage here:

It's not HIS info that is coming up - it's the "People Also Viewed."

The quickest way to get rid of this is to go to his profile, click a bunch of unrelated people to 68 Degrees and get these people off his sidebar, then when Google reindexes the page they may see different info.

Also, build up your own SEO & presence as Moosa suggested. Twitter, FB, real link building to your own site. You only have 2 links on Ahrefs. When you have 200, he'll most likely never appear for this search as all your own pages will. You just need better SEO on your own site but in the meantime you can remove this from LinkedIn just by changing who has been clicked yourself.

Push the dropdown arrow next to your listing and press "Cached."

On this page, press "view source."

I would do both ... the citations you can that don't require address (this is something you should definitely keep track of with your list of citations.) and then link build normally to the page.

The thing with citations is you may not always see a way to avoid the address but I've put "private" or "private listing" in the actual address field and for many it does work. So even when it says "address, required" I'm filling in with "Private Residence" or "Address Not Listed - Private" and it works on many more than you would think.

Then, do custom searches. "Green Bay small businesses" and such. Find "area" directories and resource pages that way. If you do the search your customer wants to show up on you can usually find a few more authoritative links to add just in the top 3-5 pages of Google for that search.

This is a duplicate question - you have about 4-5 of almost the same question on the forum. Please don't cross-post or re-post. Almost every post on the forum gets at least a couple answers to please hold on and let us work our way there.

You should automatically redirect the www or non-www (check Google to see which one they prefer.)

Number of keywords ranked in SEMRush?

This isn't such a great metric for a number of reasons.

1. SEMRush as a whole isn't all that great for small to mid-sized sites. It's great for huge sites and even "pretty large" places but I wouldn't think you'll find many results on dentists, plumbers, photographers & even SEO agencies.

2. "my belief is that the more related keywords that you have ranked the better you will do."

I'll take "dresses" and you take 250 keywords related to window tinting in Kyoto. "More" keywords isn't necessarily better. A lot of SEO agencies don't bother trying to rank keywords as they're often busy working on client work and not on their own marketing (I know two of the agencies I'm intimately familiar with don't 'drink their own koolaid' - their marketing is way behind their actual skills.)

Finding a good company is challenging but you should look places like here (Moz Q&A is great and you get to know people before you work with them) as well as LinkedIn local groups, social media (again, insight) and try to get an idea of what someone's philosophy is before you engage them.

When you talk about traffic "drop offs" - again, if this is SEMrush, it's hard to say ... but I've seen frequently when a company is engaging an SEO agency that has their own private network, the contract ends and they remove links. If you have 20-200 strong links removed, you're going to take a massive dive. Also, check if these dives are around algorithm changes.

This is the wrong question. You can earn as many links as you can possibly get each month. So technically the answer is "as many as possible." But this means the right links. Obviously spamming XRumer & GSA link blasts from Fiverr are going to hurt you whether it's 20 links a month or 20,000.

Quantity is not your concern here - quality is. The better your links, the more you want. The worse, then fewer is better (less cleanup of the garbage later.)

You can temporarily 301 out of a penalized site but given that you said you've been trying to recover for a couple years, your recovery isn't "temporary" and the 301 will only hurt you long-term.

I would have a disavow/recovery professional take a look for you and come at it with fresh eyes. Get rid of any negative affect, build some positive authority to the site and you won't need to 301. You will lose long-term with that strategy without fixing the root of the problem.

Well, having the canonical can help you with other situations (people taking your content, you decide to do translations later, etc) so I would go with canonicals first as they're a more robust solution. Parameter solutions in SC only affect Google itself (not Bing, not any other search engine that comes along) as well. Canonicals would help all of them at once - so def the better choice if possible.

Yes, you should be implementing canonical tags back to the main product page.

Also, if your c.50 URLs are parameter based (ie. /product?color=red) than you can also deal with the indexation of those in Search Console. Google gives you the option to set the options for each parameter. (You can also deal with parameters in robots.txt but unless you have to, I would do it through Search Console instead.)

Things I check:

• header check (I've had pages appear 200 OK in webconfs and then massive errors in Browseo so I often check both.)
• Screaming Frog check - does the direct URL start a proper crawl?
• Make sure it's not blocked in WMT under removed pages (some website owners and/or bad SEOs try to demote sitelinks by removing the URL.)
• Meta tags & robots.txt  both of which I assume you already checked.
• Duplicate content being indexed. Take a random sentence & throw it in quotes on Google. If a 100% dupe version comes up on their facebook page, archive.is, or some directory it may just need a content refresh to push through.

If you check all 5 of those off, then I'd definitely like to see the URL.

The first time it happened to me was an accident. I checked the redirects about 10 times and thought I must be doing something wrong.

You definitely won't lose as much value with this strategy. It's a good stop-gap in a difficult situation.

Do the two current sites (domainUS.com and domain.com.au) have a lot of authority?

The final location for these, in 2 subfolders, is ideal. I like where you're going with this. But the plan to jump to the .com.au/us and /au is ... well, sub-optimal. It's not ideal to have two sets of redirects essentially to solve a 2 month problem.

If the current sites aren't very authoritative, you'll probably be ok. If they have a decent amount of ranking power & current traffic, I would try to skip the middle step or at least use 302 instead of 301 redirects. Using the 302s mean the .com.au/us and .com.au/au sites won't get the value of the current sites for Nov/Dec/Jan but it does mean you're not going to chain 301s once January comes.  You'll just remove the 302s and create 301s to the new domain.com/us and domain.com/au websites.

Those 301s will then pick up the majority of the current ranking power and give you the best possible boost.

If you can't hold off until the company owns the .com, that's what I would do at least.

I'd be really shocked if this were a yes. My own experience says no, SSL is SSL and you should be fine.

The only thing I would add to that is if the SSL ends up slowing your site down, it can do as much harm as good. Make sure you're getting strong performance out of your site before AND after the SSL.

Yes, if you leave them in place for a long time Google will eventually treat your 302s like 301s. Google can also misinterpret your 302s as 301s if they think you've used the wrong redirect method.

• We've seen 302s as part of the basis for penalties.
• A while ago there was an experiment where 302s eventually passed juice.
• JohnMu says it can happen here.
• A decent amount more info on SEO Theory.

I think the general consensus is basically that 302s don't work the way we think/wish they did 100% of the time so yes, it's very possible your long term 302s have been interpreted by Google as "meaning" 301 - permanent redirects.

10 at a time,  yes. But beyond the 50 you can get in Moz Analytics, it's the easiest way to check beyond those 50 as well. Doing 10 takes about 10 seconds - Putting in 100 would take 2 minutes and the file collation would take another minute or two. Five minutes maybe for your top 100 pages is the best simple way I know.
