Also, I see that the links are all category and archive links. These should be ok as long as you are using a plugin like the "All in One SEO Pack" in Wordpress and set NOINDEX on categories, archives and tags.

Also, you can set the categories to be displayed as a dropdown which would make the links invisible to the crawler (if I am not mistaken). A drop down category list may not look good but if the links are seen as links then it should help.

Nothing spectacular here. It is just a standard search engine submission service. How in the world can they offer any thing more - in terms of organic search. Either that or they would probably put the website up on their network of site to drive some traffic through.

Even though technically and logically it should not hurt your sites, I do have some experience in this where I had seen rankings and saturation affected when I had added unrelated websites into my GA account for easier management.

Of course this could have been coincidental or perhaps I was being paranoid. But I could not find any other explanation (as far as my investigation went) for this.

Ah! Keri... a very important point... yes, better to secure your brand name as a handle on social channels...absolutely!

I had used it extensively on our company blog to search for related images and for tag suggestions. But I had to uninstall it because I felt that I was not getting any usable related images and some how I also felt it was slowing down my admin panel. I also intended to use it for cross linking but it did not really help me in that aspect.

I can not see the merit in the .brand TLD. I think www.amazon.com is better than www.xyz.amazon. May be I am missing some thing here. Why would they even come up with this?

Actually my experience has shown that keywords in the handle actually look spammy and most people tend to not take that account seriously.. Infact I myself had deleted a lot of follows who either had a keyword in their handle or a graphic of some sort. I cleaned my follow list to ensure I was getting tweets from people and not automated systems. I am probably digressing here... sorry....
