Rankings dropped - lost 3,000 backlinks (but from same domain)
The second one most likely, but it could be only partly or unrelated to either. It's hard to give feedback without knowing the business or more details.

Search ranking crushed - due to embedding of volume of 3rd party content?
It's hard to tell in such a short time frame, but without knowing additional information that is most likely the cause. If you were Google, why would you rank your site instead of Indeed? Additionally, you'll probably want to clean up some of your exact match keyword anchor text such as the ones on these pages: http://subjecttracerbots.com/index.php?c=37 http://director-web.net/World__international_/page-16.html

What is value in a back-link from article with multiple links pointing to various other sites?
Hi Kirstaian As you point out in your question there is more value to a link than just the link juice passed, there is also the credibility factor. Being seen on a page with other respected sites in your industry builds brand awareness and credibility for your site.

SEO value in baclklink from blog.domain VS domain
You've got the basics, Kristian. If a page is on a strong domain, it will inherit some of that domain authority to the page. So if two pages are equal, but one is on a stronger domain (or stronger subdomain) the one on the stronger domain will likely rank higher and have more "juice" to send when it links out to other pages. There are many examples of blog subdomains that are actually stronger than their parent domains because that's where the site owner is investing most of their attention and effort. So... bottom line is... just because pages are on a blog subdomain doesn't mean they are necessarily worth less just because they're on a subdomain. Each has to be assessed individually for value, just like with the primary domains. Consider this: blogging sites like Typepad and WordPress.com all have their users' site on subdomains, yet huge numbers of those subdomain-based blogs rank really well and are very high authority. So assess a blog page on a subdomain as you would any other page. If it's related to your niche and a connection makes sense form a user's perspective, it's a reasonable target from which to earn a link. Hope that helps; Paul

Link from archived article.
Sorry, these questions are impossible to answer correctly. In my opinion though, Google will pass value through the link especially if it is a strong news site. Usually I just ask myself: Would I feel comfortable telling Google about this link at a later date? If the answer is yes I go for it.

Value in content from website being shared across social media?
Active on social media is interaction to me so if the content you distribute on social media sites creates buzz and people started interaction with you... You are active! It’s simple is that! Will Google find it active or not is a different debate... may be Google+ interaction will be considered as more important as compare to others but this is not conform till yet!

I want to upload one of my youtube videos to my Google+ Account.
thx, David. Yes, I am referring to how I may upload videos from youtube to my business page's Google+ account under the "video" tab - not as a feed. When I click the video tab there is a red "Upload New Videos" and either upload from computer or drag 'n drop option. Does not seem an option to copy paste the youtube link. If anyone knows if this is possible, let me know

Value in content from website being shared across social media?
Hi Kristian, First of all, Google will not going to treat it as duplicate content as we share titles and URLs in social sites not the whole content. The more your content get shared, the more it will help you in getting ranking as well as traffic.

Backlink from my YouTube Channel, helpful for SEO?
My guess is no -- otherwise, we'd all have the latest viral cat video with 25,000,000 million views also embedded on our own website.

.GOV Link - same impact on my site's rankings whether link to home or Gov related category?
Kristian. A few things i think this would play off of would be A. Your keyword research. ( The page that had the title " State Job " what is the keyword you are trying to rank for on that page ") It would really matter. B. Run the Url you are getting the link from through open site explorer and take a look at the link juice . Age of site. etc. Ideally you want the .gov link to link to your homepage to pass the most juice, but it really matters on your keyword research. If the State job page is not far deep into the Linking Architecture of your site it should be fine. .GOV links are important links so maximize your efforts. Ask yourself where would it benefit your more. If the answer is to your homepage then , Maybe do a blog roll on the home page that references State Jobs. i.e.: if your homepage visually and with body context is about left say construction jobs, it wouldnt be a good idea to link it to the homepage. Unless the .Gov site is specifically talking about Contractor jobs. I hope i was clear. Let me know some of the info so i can further help you out Best Wishes, & Happy Holidays Hampig M. BizDetox

.Edu Backlink wrapped in Wiki
_Ok if he/she was an SEO expert, he/she would not have suggested you do this. This will kill your website, rip it apart and make it vulnerable to search engine algo shuffle. Ok thing may not be that severe as I have said, but it will make your website’s link profile dirty and of course a colossal waste of time and money. _

Copying my Facebook content to website considered duplicate content?
Hi, For user engagement and cedibility the FB plugin might be better but I don't think Google will pick up the content (whereas it will if you cut and paste).

Would it make sense to add no-follow on certain interlinks?
Hi Kristian, Sorry this is a bit late - logged off when you posted this (I'm in the UK) and only just had chance to get my 'Moz fix "non-pers google.com" just referred to using the SEOMoz Chrome Toolbar to do a 'Non personalised' check on Google.com for your keywords. If you want to check rankings compared to your competitors, use your SEOMoz Pro account (if you have one) or if you need something large scale and custom, get in touch with AuthorityLabs. As for the no-follows, yeah - it would make sense to me. Again, depends on the exact situation but sounds like a sensible thing to do... Matt

Would it make sense to add a no-follow to About, Sign In, Join Us, Privacy, Terms of Use etc?
thank you. I appreciate this. I run a job board and I noticed the most successful job search engine - indeed.com - no follow page numbers. Example: if run a search for "Los Angeles" jobs you get thousands of hits and at the bottom of each page the page numbers you can jump between (1,2 3, next, etc) are all set as no-follow. They have also set Sign In as no follow. I see careerbuilder also has a few no-follows. This does not mean they are right, but it is interesting for me to observe, since these are the heavyweights in my industry. I run this site by the way www.hawaiijobengine.com
