RE: Discrepancy between Google Search Console and flang.dejanseo
Hi,
Thanks for your help. I now have tested a few different pages and see your point.
I have tried also adding the default element, but it still keeps giving us the no reciprocal error.
Any tips on what can be wrong here? Is it because we need to add a special tag for the language selector?
Thanks

RE: The use of Markup language
Yes I have read almost every Google guideline and post about it. I guess I will delete the description from the organization as that text is not found as such in the page.
Thanks for the answer and for the help during these days!!

RE: The use of Markup language
Hi Kirsten,
I have one last question related to structured data. We have decided to use JSON-LD as it is the preferred form of markup language by Google. Now my question is regarding the standard of the code we are about to insert.
This is a part of the code we have created using Google testers tool:

RE: The use of Markup language
Creating the piece for the code for the "Organization" using the tester tool from Google was pretty straightforward, however, I now have one more question, this time a little more conceptual:
When we started to create the snippet of code for our product, we were thinking of adding items such as "nam", "logo", "description", "url", "offer" (where we would include price), but also "reviews". I am not sure this is the best approach, as I would naturally relate reviews more with hotels, hostels, bars... but no necessarily with translation software. Nonetheless, review for translation software are everywhere, and it is very frequent that translators.
Do you have any advice? Is there any blog or article were I can read more about it?
Thanks,

The use of Markup language
Hi,
We were thinking of adding markup language to our site. We have been reading about it to understand the actual benefits of doing so (we have seen many brands are not using it, including moz.com).
So I have two questions:
1- Would you recommend using it for our site? www.memoq.com
2- If yes, would it be better to create a snippet of code for our home page as an "organization" and then different snippets for our product pages as "products".
Looking forward to your comments,

Localizing URLs Path - Hreflang
Hello,
This is a simple question regarding how URLs should be managed for proper results with the hreflang tags.
Right now, we have a website in English and German. The hreflang tag is working properly. This is how we currently have it:
But we will soon change the way we localize our web, moving out of the sub-domain structure. There is this possibility of localizing the URLs path, but I was wondering if the hreflang tag would work in such case.
The new structure would look something like:
So my question is: If we localize the keyword in the path of the URL, will the tag still work? Or do they need to be in the same language than the English version.
Thanks!

RE: How long does Google takes to re-index title tags?
Hi,
I am contacting you guys again. Google has re-indexed our site completely. The only thing is our home page which remains with the old title tag... Any reason as to why this remains unchanged? See screenshot here: http://screencast.com/t/COF3cN9zC5

How long does Google takes to re-index title tags?
Hi,
We have carried out changes in our website title tags. However, when I search for these pages on Google, I still see the old title tags in the search results. Is there any way to speed this process up?
Thanks

RE: Page Authority for localized version of website
HI,
Thanks for your quick reply and expect your next answer. So the subdomain/subfolder issue is not the actual reason for the "1" point for every German page?

RE: Switching from HTTP to HTTPS: 301 redirect or keep both & rel canonical?
Hi Logan,
I have a question related to this topic. We have something similar in place, but we are struggling as the 301 redirect from http to https sometime kills the gclid parameter that AdWords uses to track clicks coming search or display campaigns.
Have you heard about this before? Do you any practical solution to this?
Cheers,

Page Authority for localized version of website
Hello everyone,
I have a case here were I need to decide which steps to take to improve page authority (and thus SEO value) for the German pages on our site. We localized the English version into German at the beginning of 2015.
www.memoq.com - English
de.memoq.com - German
By October 2015 we implemented href tags so that Google would index the pages according to their language. That implementation has been successful. There is one issue though: At that time, all our localized pages had only "1" point for Page Authority ("PA" in the Moz bar). At the beginning we though that this could be due to the fact that localization was done using subdomains (de.memoq.com) rather that subfolders (www.memoq.com/de). However, we decided not to implement changes and to let Google assess the work we had done with the href tags.
Its been a while now, and still all our German pages keep having only "1" point for page authority. Plus we have keywords for which we rank in the top 10 in English (US Google Search), but this not the case for the translated version of the keywords for German (Germany Google search).
So my question basically is:
Is this lack of page authority and SEO value rooted in the fact that we used subdomain instead of subfolder for the URL creation. If so is it likely that Page Authority for German pages and SEO value will increase if I change the structure from subdomains to subfolders?
Or is it that the problem in PA is rooted somewhere else that I am missing?
I appreciate your feedback.

RE: International Targeting - Google Search Console not recognizing the tags
Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
I do know about the noindex, but this is actually something new. We set up that up today as this specific version is old and we do not want to have it indexed anymore. The page which you suggest is actually the new version, and we will sure add hreflang-tag there. But what is the point if google can't just read it?
I added the hreflang-tag more two months ago (where there were no noidex-tags) and even so Google couldn't drill the page. I am not sure if it is worth doing.

International Targeting - Google Search Console not recognizing the tags
Hi,
We are facing a problem with international targeting not being recognized by the Google Search Console.
This is the URL to which we added the following tags:
URL:
http://kilgray.com/memoq/2015-100/help-en/index.html
TAGS:
Flang tool Result: http://screencast.com/t/rrBgcr1X
Search Console result: http://screencast.com/t/fP45ZR2c
I am a bit lost here, as the tags were validated also from different members of the community. Is this because of the frames? (Yes, the site is built in frames).
Thanks for your help!

RE: Robots txt. in page with 301 redirect
Hey, for some time we will keep the files in the old domain. Should we break the redirect and insert the disallows to the robot.txt of the old site?

RE: Robots txt. in page with 301 redirect
Hi Laura,
Thanks for your reply. I don't want to disallow the URLs these pages are being redirected to. Actually these URLs are in the old version but still can be accessed. So to put it simply, this is my case:
1- This was our current website: www.kilgray.com (With a 301 redirect)
2- This is our new website: www.memoq.com
3- I would like to disallow the following links on the old website that are still visible (haven't been redirected):
http://kilgray.com/memoq/2015-100/help-en/index.html
http://kilgray.com/memoq/2014/help-en/

Robots txt. in page with 301 redirect
We currently have a a series of help pages that we would like to disallow from our robots txt.
The thing is that these help pages are located in our old website, which now has a 301 redirect to current site.
Which is the proper way to go around?
1- Add the pages we want to disallow to the robots.txt of the new website?
2- Break the redirect momentarily and add the pages to the robots.txt of the old one?
Thanks
