We will operate at Heritage Custom Signs & Displays w/ the domain HeritageCustomSigns.com

My concern is, will Google view is as the new subdivision of Heritage Printing or allow us to be a stand alone.

The problem is we are nationally known as commercial printers and expanded into signage 7 years ago, but have trouble distinguishing ourselves as signs.

Your thoughts are appreciated

We are Heritage Printing & Graphics, serving 2 areas (DC & Charlotte, NC) with Commercial Printing (books, magazines, catalogs) and Event Signage (banners, backdrops, custom displays)

Our current location in NC is 2739 Interstate St. and we will soon also occupy 2731 Interstate St. (next door) which we would like to promote as Heritage Custom Signs & Displays.

Do you think this is a good idea as far as Google “My Business” map listing?

Yes it helps a lot, your opinion is valued. My designer has evolved with technology and he offered both custom with minify abilities as well as WordPress (which I'm not in favor of). He makes good points about both, but really want to hear from my Moz Community before we make the plunge later this year, early next.

We are considering 1 maybe 3 websites (1 new 2 redesign) there are so many options with technology rolling over every 3 years it seems. Here are my obstacles:

• Wordpress: dynamic but easily hacked, often needs updating
• Joomla: attractive, but cumbersome to manage
• Custom: sleek and easier to manage, but gets outdated quickly

Here are some variables: 80+ products, E-Commerce, Dynamic, Blog, Tons of images, SEO friendly, MUST not lose our rankings!

Yes, we have 2 heritageprinting.com and heritageprintingcharlotte.com

I have the redirects in place and Google recognizes them, but the weekly Moz reports show hundreds of duplicate pages.

How do I eliminate that from our weekly report?

Moz analytics reports numerous duplicate page content because it is reading both the WWW.mydomain.com and .mydomain.com

How do I adjust our Moz accounts to only analyze our mydomain.com?

Agreed, read Rand's post it explains it well. I just finished creating a spreadsheet of us and our competitors with their PA/DA scores and rank for our #1 term, which I will use as a measuring tool going forward. PA/DA is important, but not as much as your ranking.

Thank you for addressing the fluctuating DA/PA, to be clear: I have been disavowing bad links for 3 months using Marie Haynes post as a guide: https://moz.com/blog/guide-to-googles-disavow-tool.  I have disavowed 88 bad links during that period which I personally investigated and our DA dropped 6 points (31-25) with this last index.

Am I to understand that was because:

1. The index is reading from as far back as 90 days
2. We are in the 10-40 range and small link changes affect us more.

PS: I have been "cleaning up" the SEO using the Moz guidelines and adding quality unique content (products pages & blog posts)

Thanks Rand for the update.  We have hired a full time marketing manager  and he has been working hard the past month, I know he's excited to see the new results.  "Putty & Paint does not a NEW Boat make"  Fixing is a painstaking reality compared to building.  Moz is great, so we will wait

One of my local listings is paused and I don't know how to activate it.  It says "Listing not found on Google or Facebook" but I have it linked.  What do I do now?

one last question for now.  When I set up the new accounts it did not give me any other option than to pick my google analytics for my heritageprintingcharlotte.com site when I was doing the heritageprinting.com account.  Is there a way to override that to allow me to select my google analytics for heritageprinting.com?

Thanks for your help.  So how is it that some of the keyword phrases on heritageprinting.com are actually ranking if this is the case?

Two weeks ago I deleted and reentered all of the key phrases for our heritage charlotte account because of the inaccuracies I was seeing after the new heritageprintingcharlotte.com launched in February.  Most all of our phrases where ranking in the top 10 with moz before the new site went up and after the new site went up it became very inaccurate.  Now only one of 85 phrases is showing a ranking even though most are in the top 20. Some of the many examples are:

Magazine Printing Charlotte  #4 and #5

commercial printers charlotte    #4

direct mail printers charlotte #8

I could continue endlessly.  Check for yourself.  Most every phrase is ranking but is not showing up that way on your tool. Not very helpful now.

this same thing is happening on our DC campaign for heritageprinting.com as well.

Very frustrating.  How do we get this to work again so we can get accurate information.
