Hi Jabcchetta,
I would highlight a discussion started by Egol: http://www.seomoz.org/q/big-link-network-taken-down
In addition, if it was me who can take the decision, I would rather spend that money on creating some quality content and build links that provide value for the potential visitors.
I hope that helped,
Istvan
Hi Naufal,
First of all, you need to identify which markup is causing the issue itself. Removing every single markup from your website won't be beneficial (although you might get the manual action removed from the site).
Check the guidelines from Google: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/guides/sd-policies
Two very important points from the guidelines:
Personally, I do not believe that it is caused by OpenCart. I would look into how the review/rating markup was implemented on the site (that's a point where we had issues with implementation in the past). Which method are you using for the markup?

later edit: could you provide an example code? maybe we can analyze it easier. (you can send it via PM, if you do not want to disclose the URL publicly)
Hi,
Try out your page with Flang tool. Maybe it will give a better insight what you are missing out.
We cannot do more without a link that we can inspect
BTW: common mistake, do you have a self reference? It is needed in order to hreflang to work well.

Hi Alec,
IMO a good link is one that not only provides "link juice", but can provide referral traffic as well. Therefore when someone asks me where to start with link building, then I always try to guide them towards the concept of:
These are the prerequisites of a link building process. Only after you have answered these (and mainly to yourself), you can start thinking of how to connect your target audience with your assets.
Do not forget, that quality always wins against quantity. Do not try to create many links, with low value.
Also before you start building links, read as much as possible about Google updates.

Hi Rachel,
Like I have mentioned in the previous question, the best case would be to translate them (especially if you are creating a group of redirects now), but if it won't be implemented, then regardless check for the followings after implementation:
Btw.: A "must read" article, when we are talking about hreflangs: https://moz.com/blog/hreflang-behaviour-insights from Dave Sottimano.
What I would try out, is including a self reference also.
So next to your hreflang there would appear a new hreflang, such as:
When we have implemented hreflang, we have also used a self reference, and I do not have any issues there.
I hope that helps.

Hi there,
With this kind of inquiry you should probably contact the help team instead of the q&a community.
You can write an email to them at help[at]moz.com or via: https://moz.com/help/contact
I am sure they will be able to help you more as the community here.

Hi there,
I believe the most logical implementation would be to use "noindex, follow" meta robots on these pages.
I wouldn't use canonical because it does not serve this purpose. Also make sure, these pages are not blocked via robots.txt.
That Kumar guy is funny. We also had to deal with him in the past. He asks for a certain amount of money /links removed.
We have tried talking to him first, in order to remove the urls. But in the end his websites ended up in our disavow file. (and his response was: I do not care)
Keszi
Hey,
I think the fastest way to get a response for your question, is to directly mail Moz Help team: help@moz.com
If they can help, they will.

This is a technical question, that they need to tackle from database side. It can be implemented, but it needs a few extra development hours, depending on the complexity of your website architecture/cms used/etc.. Anyways, you are changing the URL, so don't forget about the best practices for them. Good luck!
Hi I would go for four Social networking sites:
1. LinkedIn
2. Facebook
3. Twitter
4. Google +
I am not really engaging myself into others, but you can build very valuable relations on these in your area. I hope someone will include other Social networks in the list to.
It was the same in our case. Could do nothing more, then just disavow him.
Unfortunately there are people who fall in his trap, and pay for the removal.
His websites are not indexed in Google. Therefore I hope Google doesn't count any links/anchor from his sites.
In my experience, it will help the overall site, but still... do not expect a huge impact on these. URLs are shared, but I don't believe people will start to link to them except for private conversations.
Hi Atul Sharma,
In Chrome, make sure the bookmarks bar is shown. and then just drag the grey SEO button to the bookmarks bar.
Then it should work fine
Cheers!
Hi,
Could you point out the website or what platform you are using? maybe it would be easier to help.
When everything else fails, I do the XML sitemaps manually (Notepad++ and Excel). But Screaming Frog also is helpful.
Keszi
You have my details on my profile. And after we resolve it, we should paste here the solution without domain-specific information, so it helps others in the future. (if you don't mind).
You have the grey background SEO button on http://twkm.ca/seo-bookmarklet
Click and drag it to the bookmarks bar on your browser.
After you have it in your browser's bookmarks bar, you can use the tool on every page visited.
That's all
Hey,
Can you point out an example URL? (if you don't want to disclose the website URL in here, you can do it via a personal message). This way we can debug an exact URL and not just a theory.
Regarding blocking via robots.txt: it is never a good idea to block a search engine from URLs you want to deindex. This way the Google crawlers won't grab and process the data, and you will have your URLs in the search index.
Just check: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/6062608?hl=en
"While Google won't crawl or index the content blocked by robots.txt, we might still find and index a disallowed URL if it is linked from other places on the web. As a result, the URL address and, potentially, other publicly available information such as anchor text in links to the page can still appear in Google search results."
In case of 301 redirects (make sure you are not using 302), if the crawler can access the page, you should have the old URL removed from the index.
