Bing Ranking Factors
Question...
I have a few clients that rank well for Google (first page) but are not ranking as well on Bing (page 5). Any suggestions on what to do to increase Bing ranking? I understand that Google and Bing use different algorithms, but just curious how you can increase ranking.
Appreciate your input. Thanks

Search website bar
I've noticed when you search business such as Pier 1, William Sonoma, they offer a "Search william-sonoma.com" search bar within the organic search. You can see it when you google William Sonoma.
So, the question is, how does that get displayed? Is it something a business can include or is it something that Google will provide if they feel the need too?
Appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

RE: Google My Business
Thanks for all the information. The comments were very helpful. The businesses are different (phone number, website) and I believe the address can include a suite number which will help make them different too.
Very helpful!

Google My Business
I have a question about Google my Business. Currently I have a business that's been verified. I would like to add another business with the same address. The businesses are different (name, website, phone number) but the primary address is the same. Is this something that can be done? Thanks for your help.

RE: Google My Business
Hi Miriam,
Thanks for the answer. Wow, this is a great article. I'll make sure the site is updated first and then follow the other steps. This was very helpful. Also, good to know Google may want to re-verify again.
Thanks,

Google My Business
I have a quick question about Google my Business listing. If moving a business to a new location, would all you need to do is edit the listing with the new NAP? The business is verified. Would I need to do anything else? Thanks for your help.

Creating a Landing Page
Ok, ,quick question. A client is launching a new product.
Would you recommend creating a landing page (off main domain) such as:
productname.com ---- and this page would have product information and would be a landing page for a possible PPC campaign. A link would be included to their main website to purchase product.
or
would you include the new product on their main website (companysite.com) in the appropriate product category?
Is there any benefits to having it on it's own domain? SEO benefits?

Business Name is Meta Description
I would like to know what your opinion would be regarding the business name displayed in the meta description. Would you write your business name as:
Business Name or BusinessName
(no space with Trademark)I used MOZ example from here (Meta Descriptions Best Practice) and inserted the different business names.
Welcome to Business Name in San Diego, California - the nation's largest urban cultural park. Home of 15 major museums, renowned performing arts venues...
Welcome to businessname
in San Diego, California - the nation's largest urban cultural park. Home of 15 major museums, renowned performing arts venues...I'm not sure which would be best for Google and other search engines.
Thanks for your help.

HTTP to HTTPS
I had a site that was http://www.site.com and now the entire site is https://www.site.com.
I notice in WMT its showing https://wwwsite.com listed as not verified. I never added it, but did Google recognize it and added it to my list of sites?
- Do I need to verify it? Is it ok to have verified http:www.site.com and additionally https://www.site.com
Also, i submitted a new sitemap and indexed pages are low. Will that go up as Google crawls the site?
The https://www.site.com was launched about a week ago.
Thanks.

RE: Duplicate Content
Thank you for the responses. They were both very helpful. I went ahead and took a few 10-word samples and searched it in Google with the quotation marks. The client showed up as the first result! He was pleased. Again, the responses were very helpful! Thanks.
I like that tips about using the quotations.

Duplicate Content
I was just using a program (copyscpape) to see if the content on a clients website has been copied. I was surprised that the content on the site was displaying 70% duplicated and it's showing the same content on a few sites with different % duplicated (ranging from 35%-80%) I have been informed that the content on the clients site is original and was written by the client.
My question is, does Google know or understand that the clients website's content was created as original and that the other sites have copied it word-for-word and placed it on their site?
Does he need to re-write the content to make it original? I just want to make sure before I told him to re-write all the content on the site? I'm well aware that duplicate content is bad, but i'm just curious if it's hurting the clients site because they originally created the content.
Thanks for your input.

How Much Does Punctuation of a Word Effect SEO?
I have a page on a site that is targeted for "mens hair cut" and I have received a F for the grade.
The content on the page uses "men's" throughout the content. (proper punctuation) When I re-graded the page with "men's hair cut" the page received a B grade.
My question is, does mens v.s men's make a different for on-page SEO? Should my targeted keywords include "men's" rather than "mens"?
