Should I worry about these 404's?
Kate, Chenzo is right re the 404 but you are likely not getting any real juice from a profile page. That said, a 302 is a temp redirect and does not convey juice. To me, I do not see a reason to do a 301. You could use either.

Site Categorization?
Right, I guess really it will be a matter of a waiting game than anything. I didn't think there was a way to do it, but I was just wondering if anyone out there had more theories.

Too many on page links
I love Ray's work I would honestly not worry too much about the too many page-links. The only issue you will run into is that search engines will not crawl all your content. This you can fix with sitemaps to hint what should be crawled. You can also hint certain links with "noindex/nofollow" based on what you would like to hint to be indexed/crawled. The duplicate titles could be fixed by making the title unqiue - either by appending a pageNo or something unique about the page (a username, a date, a title with a category etc). The canonicals make sense where you have cases where different URLs result in the same page being displayed.

URL Error "NODE"
Awesome thanks. I think we have a few issues like that so I'll have to have them do a sweep and clean it up.

301 Re-direct as referral traffic
If you have CPANEL, you should be able to access it there. Some other server access systems may also drop a copy into a directory you can access, you may be able to look around in your panel's file manager - look in your local root directory/logs

No Follow User Profiles?
Yeah they are legit for now. I already told them to do the no-follow so I think it should be okay.

Title Length Question?
It makes sense I'll just need to figure out where to use it on the page.

Where do you job post to find someone specific like video optimizers?
Hey Kate, That's an interesting Question. I think you may struggle to find someone specifically trained in the requirements you state, as Video SEO and Video optimisation is a very specific skill that only some SEOs will have experience of, and few people working in the technical video space will have even heard of. That said, I'm sure you should be able to find someone for the role by just advertising for the core competencies required and then training a good candidate up in the specific video optimisation skills, which are fairly simple principles to learn. I would recommend taking a two-pronged approach to hiring - searching for people in the production space with some web experience and searching for people in the marketing/SEO/web space with video production experience. While your job description has mostly "SEO" type skills, to be a good video optimiser your candidate will also need an understanding of encoding, embedding production and dramaturgy. So..I suggest posting the job here: Mandy Production Hub Skill Set Film and TV Pro Requesting a technical editor with web experience - specifically analytics and HTML. Then also put the job on http://jobs.inbound.org/ and any other SEO jobs boards you can find, but ask for the core SEO experiences and some video production knowledge, rather than specific YouTube optimisation skills. Obviously YouTube experience is a bonus, but in my honest opinion, it shouldn't be a pre-requisite because of how easy it is to pick up the basics Once you've found someone with the core skills - both creative and technical ability, then essentially get them to go through this guide - http://www.distilled.net/training/video-marketing-guide/ and all related links in depth. However, It is a tough thing to find candidates for and I expect it is going to take you a while to locate the right person. It recently took me about 4 months to find and hire an editor & animator with HTML experience at Distilled and the challenge wasn't getting someone with the right skills, but finding someone who was talented and smart enough to be able to work things out for themselves, try new things and get to grips with the ever changing landscape of online video. Hope that's somewhat useful. Cheers, Phil.

Drupal Question
Well, we're using drupal also and had the same problem, we fixed it by making a custom view with some custom paths that we're smaller for example: previously: http://www.domain.com/news/typeofnews/paperback/issue-20-august-2011/itemtitle1/ (as you can imagine the titles could be large) Now: http://www.domain.com/news/20-09-2012/title Maybe this is possible for u also ?

Anyone know how to fix duplicate content and titles with news section?
Thanks. It doesn't drive a ton of traffic so we may just go ahead and make sure the pages don't get crawled.
