We are planning to relaunch our ecommerce site selling gifts on Magento EE . I want to know weather we should go for retina or not.
My only concern is page loading.
Any advise will be appreciated.
Hi there,
We are thinking to redevelope our ecommerce websites and thinking responsive design. Due to responsive design when the screen gets smaller to fit iphone and ipad we need to hide some content to make it more user friendly.
My question is, how Google will treat hiding content with the smaller screens?
Will this effect our rankings in a negative way?
We really don't want to get punished by Google
Thank You
Quick question:
Is it ok to provide our product descriptions to affiliates?
Ho does this effect our SEO as far as duplicate content issue?
Best Regards
Actual rel="canonical" tags.
As soon as we relised everything was fixed. Canonical tag is showing urls without slash and also aplied to htaccess to redirect slash version to non slash version.
<cite>we're using www.shopify.com</cite>
Thanks a lot.
Now when i click the slash version of the indexed URL from google goes to nonslash version. So it seems we're safe now.
The other thing is when I submitted the sitemap.xml after launch it was without slash. Also all internal links are targeting nonslash URLs. I think google should understand that this is a technical issue and now it has been solved.
When should i remove that redirect?
I checked with this website: http://www.internetofficer.com/seo-tool/redirect-check/
It says:
http://www.mydomain.com/jason.html/
Type of redirect: 301 Moved Permanently
http://www.mydomain.com/jason.html
So looks as if it's done the job. Right?
RewriteRule ^([^/]+/)*([^/.]+).html/ http://www.mydomain.com/$2.html [R=301,L]
Looks like above did the trick
Please can you tell me how to redirect urls with slash to non slash urls using .htaccess.
Hi Guys,
We redesigned the website and somehow our canonical extension decided to add a trailing slash to all URLs. Previously our canonical URLs didn't have a trailing slash.
During the redesign we haven't changed the URLs. They remained same but we have now two versions indexed. One with trailing slash one without.
I've now fixed the issue and removed the the trailing slash from canonical URLs.
Is this the correct way of fixing it? Will our rankings be effected in a negative way?
Is there anything else I need to do.
The website went live last Tuesday.
Thanks
Hi There,
Is it ok to use ajax for product filters and pagination? In this case url doesn't change when you navigate to 2nd or 3rd page also when you filter by colours, etc.
If not what's your advise?
Thank you. I think it's best to apply to a few categories and do a heat map analyses or something similar. But As long as it doesn't effect on page SEO, it might work very well. In my opinion
Any idea about user experience and conversions?
Hi There,
I would like to know what's the pros and cons of Infinite Page Scrolling for e-commerce Product Categories that have over 700 products. Sample here
Secondly how will this effect our on page SEO as far as google concerned?
Many Thanks
I was just wondering how we should deal with filters and pagination with our ecommerce website.
We can do nofollow or noindex, follow or canonical for both filters and pagination.
Which one we should choose and why?
By the way we are trying to create more sub categories to avoid too many pages but we have 1,000s products and we still end up with a quite high amount of pages.
I've read a few conflicting seomoz QA about this issue.
Many Thanks
We are thinking to redesign our ecommerce site and was wondering would we loose our google rankings in any way? That's something we don't want.
We want to achieve a better and cleaner looking website. It's a more like template redesign. But adding extra functionalities.
We will add upselling and crossselling features to product pages. Some products have reviews and some don't. If a product doesn't have a review random testimonials will replace the reviews.
We will redirect all urls's if category structure changes.
All content title, headings remain same.
Any suggestions are welcome
