Recent Algorithm Update Impact on Rankings
Hey Juice, I had the same thing happen on a very well optimized site with great backlinks. I found that I had 2046 links from m(dot)biz linking to me that did not show in any tools but did show in GWT inbound links. These were all do-follow with the title tag as the anchor text. and about a third of them popped up right before the algo change. I have disavowed them, and waiting to see if I get the change in rankings back like before. I wanted to see if you have found a different issue or if you might have also been link spammed by a similar site. Dogfish

Google indexing nofollow links
When you say "link profiles" it leads me to believe that you are using Open Site Explorer or some other SEO Tool. No SEO tool can crawl every page on the web, which is why the link may not show up on some client's backlink reports. See if it is reported in Google Webmaster Tools or if the page is indexed by Google. If the page is indexed, you know Google is aware of the link.

Agency Domain Authority Boosting Activity
Keep in mind that Domain Authority is a Moz metric, and not something that is used by the search engines to help judge a site. We try to approximate what the search engines value, but doing things solely to get an increase in DA without adding real value to the site isn't going to be of much help in the search engines. Things to look at in addition to Moz metrics are: are your clients making more money from your efforts? Are they getting more leads? Are more people visiting their site? Are people staying longer? Has the conversion rate increased? Are you making their phones ring more? Those are also quite important metrics.
