Was looking for proof - I feel sorry for the client as the other people have mis-guided her - we doubled her traffic and were just waiting for the off site seo to start to have an effect but she said it was taking too long and went somewhere else. I have proof in analytics that we doubled the traffic and sent it her just before she left but so clients won't learn. We are a small company with a conscience and hate to see people ripped off so not trying to get her back so much as guide her and just send her some sort of proof without referring her to this post

RE: I Don't Want to Post from HootSuite because it "posts from Hootsuite."
I'm assuming you are trying to "hide" the tools you use. You should be selling your services as marketing and part of a strategy so it should not matter if people know you use a twitter management tool, you are being paid to provide a service of the content of the tweets and attract followers.

RE: Can anyone recommend a great seo company?
How deep are your pockets. A great SEO company costs money. Just so you know you get what you pay for. avoid anyone that offers guaranteed results/positions in google.
You pay peanuts you get monkeys!

RE: Hi I wanted to clarify whether what I am describing is a link wheel and is this black hat ?
Dodgy and risky as hell!!! If the sites have nothing in common and link in time it will all fall apart. At this stage I think it's risky but probably getting away with it....
Go on rat on the company or at least private message me the name... I'm curious

RE: Advice on importing content please to keep page fresh
Totally agree!!! Well said!
Especially with the move to the "social web" it is more important than ever before to create reasons to visit a website. Create something truly useful and unique that makes people want to come and tell there friends about it. Saying that this is hard these days but still do-able.
Ask yourself: Why should people visit my site? What's in it for them? Why am I different?

RE: What is the best eCommerce platform for a new business?
Magento is a heavy platform and can easily bring a server to its knees if its not setup properly. BUT Saying that it is the best! Nothing else really comes close!! Just make sure you set it up properly. Been using it for 3+ years now and never looked back!

Social networking such as replying, liking, updating sites.
Forum posts from good quality sites.
Not a proper answer just a few ideas that jumped into my head!

RE: High PR Profile backlinks
KnowEm is a great site. I think these sort of accounts (profiles etc) should be done for brand management rather than SEO.

RE: Which speed test to use?

RE: Best place to outsource backlinking services?
Yeah, Been there got the T-shirt. It is hard to find decent people these days as there are so many spammers and "fakes" out there. Whats the site and industry? Do you do much social? Have you tried connecting with company's on twitter and asking for back links? Are you creating content much fresh content that could attract readers and links?

RE: Bolding Keywords
I assumed people would knew I meant !!! Personally I think it's going to be seen as over optimization and get penalized....

Page Title (Meta descriptions) length... how strict are you?
I have just had a conversation with a client... the gist was this...
Is it more important to stay under the 55-60 characters OR go over a bit and have the page title make sense and include the clients company name.
The same argument for meta description. I have a client insisting on 55-60 length but the keywords are long and if we use the primary keyword phrase the length is 44 if we use the keyword phrase and add the company name it becomes 64. This is with us trimming it a bit.
Anyone else discussed this before?

RE: Best place to outsource backlinking services?
Social isn't too bad just can be time consuming. Fresh content writers who are good and engage the users is more tricky. I have a friend I use for that and manage all my social profiles myself and few others besides. The trouble with outsourcing is managing the expectations which in itself can be a full time job, I'm lucky over time I've found good people I work with and just going into creating videos to maximise the content and information we show to our customers when they visit our sites.

RE: Facbook like button - where to?
In your case definitely the share/like button. A fixed link to be facebook page would not really benefit as it does not require any interaction. Just a link to a page. What you need is to encourage them to "challenge" their friends and the share/like button would achieve this - or give free points/games/bonuses for sharing/liking. A like/share by a user causes a post to appear on there news feed and all their friends would see it and thus give you a chance of more people clicking it and thus getting traffic.

SSL providers? Any reviews?
Hello,
Does anyone have any recommendations on good SSL providers? We are looking for 2 levels - cheap ones we can use for our clients (and potentially EV ones) and secure ones we can use where needed. I am not sure if there are any cheap and secure ones or if this a contradiction. I await everyone's input and recommendations.
Thanks in advance
