Yahoo Newspaper Consortium... What can my local newspaper offer me that Yahoo Ads won't?
Hello there, I did some Googling and found the following. There was a Yahoo Newspaper Consortium, but it basically disbanded and then reformed as the Local Media Consortium this past fall. http://www.poynter.org/latest-news/business-news/the-biz-blog/225463/newspapers-ad-consortium-with-yahoo-reboots/ http://www.netnewscheck.com/article/29237/consortium-reboots-beyond-papers-yahoo The members of this group - do not include any of the newspapers (or the parent companies) you mention http://www.localmediaconsortium.com/consortium-members/ As of the end of February, this group is now joining forces with Google vs Yahoo http://www.adexchanger.com/publishers/private-exchange-deal-with-google-just-a-first-step-for-reconstituted-local-media-consortium/ As far as the ad deal you are being offered, I would only assume that it might be easier to work with the newspapers as it may save you a step in having to deal with only 1 ad system vs 2. I would ask to speak with current clients of the newspapers and see how they use the systems, get a demo etc. Good luck!

How do I print off Google Adwords Certification certificate through Google Partners?
Hey Stephanie, I'm not sure since the system has changed. I haven't had a look at it yet. You might be able to call Google or get them on Chat and have them walk you through the process.

What happens when i import analytics conversions into adwords if I already have conversions set up?
I know this thread has been answered but do you have a preference on this. What are the pros and cons of importing Analytic goals into Adwords? I prefer to keep it all separate as adwords conversions will show up in Analytics. Any thoughts on this?

How Do I Optimize with Google's Video Search?
Hi Stephanie, So - I'd basically avoid the Google help pages on these kinds of topics, because they're completely useless. Essentially to get into Google video search (http://www.google.com/videohp) you need to get a page indexed as a video, and then optimise the page as you would for organic search. So, your process looks like this.... Get the video indexed. This can be done either by submitting a video sitemap, or by using the VideoObject schema.org mark-up. Personally, I prefer using a video sitemap, as it tends to be more consistent. For details on how to do this, check out this post: http://www.distilled.net/blog/video/creating-video-sitemaps-for-each-video-hosting-platform/ Optimise the page for the relevant keywords. You can do this exactly in the same way you would optimise for organic search - so ensure you have keywords in the Title tag and on-page, then build some links and ensure the page has really great user - experience. That is basically it. There are some technicalities about the types of embedded video Google will index, but you only need to worry about that if you have trouble getting things indexed with the sitemap or schema mark-up. Hope that's useful! Phil.

Does Google read code as is or as rendered?
Probably it sees them, but remember what happen when Google try to cache a Facebook Page or Profile: this is the cache of the Facebook page of Moz: Google see it rendered; But the text only version sends to the Facebook Page itself not to the only-text version of it. That's the visualization of the FB Walled Garden. Hence, if it can create association between links shared and the profile sharing it, that must be not using the link graph but co-occurences IMHO.

Social media strategy
This might only work if the sites offer something of value. I know that's kind of a vague answer, but a lot of people used this strategy with a set-it-and-forget-it plan. For the social meda sites, if you're not going to be active then don't bother. Try offering coupons, trials, user generated content, top x# lists, ect.

Is duplicate content ok if its on LinkedIn?
Hi Stephanie- If the copy is just basic 'About the Company' blurbs or paragraphs, I would be fine with it. If LinkedIn has duplicate versions of entire blog posts that have potential to get shares, links and rank, I would remove them from LinkedIn. Do some simple search queries for phrases from the content. Are you being outranked by LinkedIn? How much copy is duplicated between the two pages sites and how important are these pages potential acquisition of organic traffic are the two main questions I would be thinking about.

How do I get the Google Adwords Opt-In Form in the Ad
Hey Stephanie, I can confirm that David is correct. If you don't have an account rep, just call AdWords and let them know you're interested in seeing if you can be added to the beta. I believe it's open. Just so you know, when you sign up for a beta, you don't get the data in AdWords ad extensions section (or at least this is how it was a while back). I would suggest, depending on the requirements for the beta, creating a new form specifically for AdWords and tagging it in your mail client. That way you can at least know how it's working before you dive in.

How do you decide which keywords to optimize first?
That's an SEO companies IP I think if you're looking at level of competition, ppc $ and monthly traffic estimates that can be a good start but you are also part SEO part business consultant so you need to factor in the clients margins and other factors as well if you want to do your job properly in my opinion. With existing websites there is always this sunk costs bias which I tend to see creeping in as well which affects people's decision making process.

Best tool for analyzing competitors PPC and SEO?
Hi Stephanie, the only other tool I can think of is SearchMetrics.com. They monitor a large volume of keywords (organic and PPC) on a weekly / monthly schedule and Canada is definitely one of the countries monitored (I just logged in and checked). Hope this helps. Adroll vs Adsense: Pro's and Cons
I'm taking this as comparing Adroll vs. Adwords as an advertiser... if you mean as a publisher, then ignore my answer. First, Adwords has all sorts of different display advertising, Adroll is all retargeting Advertising. I prefer Adwords because it's completely self-service, and I can see all the data and statistics for my placements. You can see a lot of stats in Adroll, but they don't display conversion stats in the interface for your specific placements. Also, with Remarketing Lists in Google Analytics, I can get pin-point remarketing based on custom events and goals within Google Analytics. You can duplicate a lot of this within Adroll, but it requires communicating everything with your reps. With Adroll you'll get some reps who will help you optimize your campaigns, and with Adwords, if you don't already have reps, you'll be on your own. Adroll has a further reach than the Google Display Network, so your ads can reach other display networks, as well as Facebook. Where I work, we use both to maximize our reach!
