I have a company that I started working with that has an outdated and inaccurate snippet coming up. See the link below. They changed their name from DK on Pittsburgh Sports to just DK Pittsburgh Sports several years ago, but the snippet is still putting the old info, including outdated and incorrect description. I'm not seeing that title or description anywhere on the site or a schema plugin. How can we get it updated? I have updated titles, etc. for the home page, and done a Fetch to get re-indexed. Does Snippet have a different type of refresh that I can submit or edit? Thanks in advance

Website Snippet Update in Search Console?

A semi client of mine reached out to me recently that another site scraped his whole site and traffic dropped significantly.
Someone that reaches out to me on occasion for help but is mostly an SEO DIYer recently had his site copied completely and his traffic dropped significantly immediately after. I have never had a client experience this in the past. Does anyone have suggestions or expertise on this? See his question and what he has done below.
Jeremy
This site scraped my credit site. Its appearance coincides with a dramatic sitewide decrease in Google traffic.I submitted a takedown request by paying this company $200. No results yet. My hosting company also placed blocks on the site HTML which pings my server for CSS and picture files. My Google Webmaster tools account shows inbound links coming from the copycat. Is there something more I should be doing? Copy Site: http://masqueros.com/Real Site: https://www.savvyoncredit.com/

RE: Retargeting Providers in Healthcare
Thanks everyone. This was frustrating. I"m still trying to figure out a reputable solution. As a Google Certified partner, i went to my Google rep for help and they said I was not allowed to do remarketing with dentists or chiropractors, so that is extremely frustrating. If you do know third party ad network providers that are reputable I would appreciate a good lead there.

RE: Retargeting Providers in Healthcare
Thanks.I'm going to try to talk to my rep about it. I did talk to Google support and that particular person said they weren't allowed, but as you said, I'm pretty sure I've seen dentists do it, so I almost feel like they just didn't want to deal with me or help because they couldn't figure out the issue. My remarketing list was running but the ads weren't running. Thank you. Was hoping someone could give me proof positive that they are doing it with dentists and/or chiropractors. Thanks

Retargeting Providers in Healthcare
I work with a number of businesses in the healthcare world and Google will not allow me to retarget to them. There are clearly companies out there doing it as I was followed around by dentist ads recently. Can anyone recommend reputable ad networks that offer general retargeting in the healthcare world, such as dentists, chiropractors, physical therapy, acupuncture, TMJ experts, etc. Thanks in advance. I've seen companies out there offering it but I'd like to be sure they are trustworthy. Thanks.

Paying for Reviews Penalty?
Hello, recently came across a company that has been paying people directly for reviews. I of course do not recommend this and realized the ethical implications and even the lawsuits that can come from this, but does Google have a manual penalty for fake reviews or do they just algorithmically discount ones that raise red flags? I have never really had to worry about this in the past. I know you can flag fake reviews to them on an individual basis, but does anyone have history of knowing specific situations where a company was manually punished for doing this? Just curious and I kind of wanted to give them strong documentation to knock it off. Thanks in advance.

RE: Google displaying SERP link in Japanese
Thank you. It appears to have corrected itself. Has anyone ever seen that happen before? That was strange. We didn't change anything that I know of. I set their targeted location to the US as that had not been done. That's about it.
Thanks for taking the time to look.

Google displaying SERP link in Japanese
A chamber of commerce site near me has Google displaying their link in japanese characters when they search for them by name. If you google Eastern monmouth chamber of commerce, you will see this.
The site is emacc.org. Can anyone tell me what might cause this or how to resolve?

RE: What are suggestions for best paid advertising based on specific age? Facebook has age data. What else out there is reliable?
Matthew, this is a great article with great data. Kind of confirms what I was thinking but a great way to show it to the client. Very much appreciated.

What are suggestions for best paid advertising based on specific age? Facebook has age data. What else out there is reliable?
I have a client with a very specific age related campaign that he would like to advertise on Facebook with. I just wondered if anyone could suggest other venues with solid age data to rely on as I would like to give him several good options. Thanks in advance for any help. It would also need to break down geographically as they are more of a regional business.

RE: Algorithmically penalized site
No problem. You were just trying to help. Appreciate it.

RE: Algorithmically penalized site
Thanks. unfortunately they don't have access to their analytics from that time period.

RE: Algorithmically penalized site
Thanks. I may dig in to that. Initial consult was to tell them if they had been penalized, which seems clear. Will dig deeper with some of these tools if they decide to move forward and try to fix it. Trying to give them a list of options.
Thanks again.

RE: Algorithmically penalized site
Thanks. Great tip. They have tons of those spammy anchor text links from the same subnets, etc. Definitely will start there, though that is the majority, and move on down from there. Initial consult was just to tell them if they have been penalized. That seems clear. I think they knew that.

RE: Algorithmically penalized site
Thanks Patrick. Appreciate it. Just kind of wanted to verify what I originally thought. They are a mess. Though I don't have the historical data to see the specific update that got them, from what I've seen just scratching the surface, they were a candidate for just about every update getting them.

RE: Algorithmically penalized site
Thanks Andy, Yes, I did mean a new site. I really see very few good links on their profile, but it looks like disavowing them all, from what you are saying is likely their only option if it is going to follow them. Just like to provide options other than paying me a lot of money to fix you, but that may be their only option, other than not ever relying on SEO again. Though apparently, they have gone 2 years without it, so maybe that is an option. Thanks again. I very much appreciate it.

Algorithmically penalized site
I have been doing SEO for years, but luckily have never had a client penalized or had to go through that. I see everyone talking about it at conferences and know the absolute basics of recovery, but just had someone come to me that was algorithmically penalized about two years ago. They have no actual data to show me a date and they couldn't tell me a specific date. According to them, their SEO disappeared and wouldn't give them access to the analytics. They are definitely showing just about every red flag with anchor tags and low trust links and tons of duplicate content. Just about everything. I realize you don't have the deep data to go by, but are there cases when it is just better to start over from scratch. They have literally thousands of bad links and strange site pages that they say they weren't even aware of. Whether they were or not I guess isn't the point now, but I have heard rumors that if you start over, Google will still figure it out and follow you with the penalty. Is this true or documented? Don't want to potentially recommend that if that is something that generally happens to bad offenders. Happy to do the work and try to resolve their issues, but it is a lot of work and is going to be expensive and want to present other options. Thanks and any thoughts suggestions are appreciated.

RE: Client had address change in Google
The Moz tool is not letting me do the address edit. It just went through today with Google. Do I just need to wait for Moz to index it. It says that I should change in Google first but it has been changed there. Thanks.
