Well the CPC is around $1.56 for that keyword, so I think if you want to target 5,000 fans for that keyword it is not going to be easy.

RE: Why is cache being shown like this
Hi Mate,
I do not believe the sub domain for the shop is currently indexed, try this syntax in google search -: site:shop.surfcity.co.nz
It is evident that you need a bit of help in many sections with the website I noticed the cache issue with internal site pages too.
I notice you also have the default descriptions and titles from the CMS too for many thing.

RE: List Quick and Dirty places to seo-tag images/content for new brands
Hi Mate,
You can do it via image sites too, a great one is FlickR to tag the images and then have it rank for image terms,
Pinterest also works well in this space, another thing if you have time and access to blogs you can have 10 authority blogs all post the image of the brand and have it rank for 10 different blogs.
You can also do it on PR news websites same way.
Quora may work but the other methods will be better.
Hope this helps.

RE: Facebook Reach from 1,200 to less than 20 in 24 hours?
Weird, what was the area if you don't mind asking.
I have seen Facebook be a bit buggy with ads recently, but all the campaigns I have done usually target very large demos and broad groups I don't do niche targeting.
My advice is to wait a week, try some new ad creative i.e. new images and what not and see if any changes happen. Or you could even try running the campaign off another account from the business.
Kind Regards,
James

RE: Why does this 1-page doorway rank #2?
Hi Nice term,
I am seeing some funny results for this term:
<cite>santacruz-customcabinets.com</cite>
Yet it is not like these domains have no URL mentions and links to them, check the domain in google for example:
we see 27 links/mentions for the URL.
This shows that the domain is been noticed by Google, the term is also very low competition so the power of exact match domains will also come into play.
Yet look at the second result it is a domain with just the keyword in the URL and only 11 links.
I hope this helps,
Regards,

RE: PPC - Is this Budget suitable for me?
Yeah the better the quality score the better your CPC will be, $1.56 is for new advertisers.
You could also look at pulling all long tail versions of this keyword and seeing if you can gather lower CPC, also miss spellings could be cost effective too

Good luck with it

RE: Does anyone have any experience with using Altruik for optimizing a retail site?
To be honest automated SEO is never going to work with off site elements, you can never beat networking and picking up the phone to complete link building on high authority websites.

RE: Google International and National Algorithm
Hi,
Algos do change around the world, different things can be seen in different markets.
For example Google will favour .com.au domains in the Australian market because it is country specific TLD's.
Sure you can GEO target the domain via webmaster tools yet it will not be as powerful.
Also country specific links will work in your favour and copy which meets the users language for your area.
Do some TLD's have more spamy things going on? Yes I agree some areas we see that .com market Google has really been fixing it up for a long time other markets are a bit slower to move, yet with all the recent changes to the algo like Panda we are seeing all TLD's come together in a more combined sense.
Hope this helps.

RE: Are you doing SEO on Twiiter and Facebook pages?
Hi,
I think it is evident that many companies in the market are providing best practice for Twitter and Facebook SEO, you show clients how to use these properties effectively to aid SEO.
I mean Twitter can be used for not only link building yet also link prospecting.
Facebook is a bit more difficult for optimization yet you can acquire a keyword rich URL and optimize specific sections of your Facebook profile such as Info/About me which is crawled by Google. You can also do thinks like optimize Facebook comments boxes to AID SEO.
In the end it is not so much about passing juice it is about creating buzz to aid link bait, PR, create noise, I also feel that Twitter has great SEO benefit. Yet you can be still smart with Facebook pages to aid SEO.

RE: Could Sub domains damage our SEO?
Sub domains will not affect the PR and the Domain Authority as Google treats them as a separate domain.
The common issue made with sub domains is that people place the same content on the sub domain as they have on the main site and think it is ok. Well it is not and this causes duplicate content issues. So my question is when you have this search function for you site will it house the data which is already found on your website and also on the sub domain it could cause some concern with multiple content showing.
But really another problem with sub domains is that people start linking to them and then you have no link juice flowing to other parts of the website.

RE: PPC Billing
Hi, Depends if you work with larger business they usually charge a service fee, similar to advertising agencys where you take a percentage of the overall spend.
For example if they spend 1 million a month you take a 7% service fee.
For smaller business they probably work on a similar method, case by case basis, all clients vary.
Some people may charge as high as 15% on a service fee.
Some people add on extra amounts per month.
hope this helps.

RE: What happens when you completely update an old site?
Make sure if the url structure has changes from the old structure to the new structure that you have all the correct 301 re directs mapped out.
Also track on site errors on the new site too make sure any errors are fixed with the correct re directs.
Also try and keep titles the same where possible too imo..

RE: Duplicate Anchor text
Hi,
to be honest the best way to do it is not to have the same anchor text in all article syndication.
Switched up the anchor text and pages you are linking too imo.
Find some variations of "Phone Recycling" which are getting traffic example "best Phone Recycling" then switch the URLS too.
Depends how large scale you are doing the articles too, if it is only 10 then I wouldn't worry but if it is 100 worry about switching link urls and anchors for sure.

RE: Facebook business page
I think google will take the first content which was indexed i.e if the website was indexed first then it will have prority in the ranks.
If the Facebook pages was second it will rank lower, yet you can use SMO tactics to rank both pages within Google SERPS to drive traffic to both destinations.

RE: Targetting site in 3 countries
In the end of the day it depends also about budgets, we worked with one client and did 20 different TLD domains for a global website, it is doable if you have budgets.
You need to remember in .com.au market links from .com.au will be way more powerful then links from .co.uk for example.

RE: Better to update or add articles?
Make the new page for 2012 and then link it from the 2011 page.
Believe me I am all for adding year values on websites, you would be surprised how many people search with the year value it is a crucial element.
I would start the social buzz, articles, blogging, link building for the page as valentines day is soon.

RE: Is using Turkish characters like ş, ğ , ü in the URLs better for SEO?
What you are referring to is unicode URL's.
Here are 4 tips for dealing with these types of url's -
• Keep them as short and simple as possible. Wherever possible, use static URLs without too many parameters. Short and simple addresses are easy for search einges to crawl and for users to remember. You want to encourage people to click on your URLs.
• **Use keywords if appropriate. **Don’t stuff your URLs full of keywords, but if using a keyword in the URL is applicable, stick it in. It’ll be highlighted in the search results just like keywords appearing in titles and metas.
• ** Translate your URLs. **If you’re building a site in German or Spanish, don’t use URLs that are still in English. You’re missing a valuable opportunity for German and Spanish search engines to see that you have relevant content in those languages. Even if it’s a short and sweet URL, you might not encourage clicks if searchers can’t read it.
• Don’t be shy about using Unicode if you’re able to. The DNS, browsers, and Unicode translations have all improved recently. Domains in Unicode form are becoming increasingly available. Since website content (and keywords) will be written in Unicode (don’t write your entire website in transliterated Chinese or Russian or Hinidi!!!), why not give yourself the opportunity to begin sticking out in the search results.

RE: Linking Facebook - Twitter - Website - G+ Profiles
On Google+ you can link up to other social profiles within the about me section.
You can link up to other profiles in the about section on Facebook pages or the info tab.
On Twitter you can link up in the about me, but limited text.
Use your main website to link up all the profiles too
That is your home base for linking out to all your social areas. -
RE: How long does a new domain need to get a specific level of trust?
I would not give the experts a blog on the wordpress sub domain be sure that when they blog it is on a sub folder for your website so when links are built they benefit your site directly and not wordpress.
