301 redirecting a mobile site.
Is it possible to selectively 301 redirect mobile/tablet user agents and google robots from the desktop version of a website to a mobile site? Would this preserve the SEO for the desktop website while optimizing the mobile/tablet site for mobile SEO?

RE: Google+ Verification - Site Speed Optimization
Hey Slava, more specifically, I'm looking for details on how to load the google+ badge asynchronously. I'm not highly technical, so hopefully that made sense.

Google+ Verification - Site Speed Optimization
So the Google+ Badge verifies our site for Google direct connect. However, the javascript code for the badge itself causes the page to load 3 to 4 seconds longer, which is a big deal.
Any ideas for a work around?

RE: Is it bad (black hat) to have an H1 text as a text indent?
Thanks for the advice! That sounds like a good plan B if I can't get the developers to change the image to text. This is definitely one of the most avoidable yet most frustrating on page issues I encounter.
I guess it's time to update my documentation for development.

Thanks, I was just thinking that too, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Is it bad (black hat) to have an H1 text as a text indent?
Is it bad practice to use a text indent through CSS for H1 text on a homepage(basically hiding h1 text)? I'm just trying to compensate for the fact that some text that should really be in the h1 tag is actually an image.

Odd backlinks from yahoo news
Can anyone explain what this backlink does? The original content was syndicated on Yahoo News from Mashable. At first glance it appears to be a straight up follow link from Yahoo to Mashable, but upon closer inspection I saw this in the code.
went public just three months ago
Here's the article on yahoo news: http://news.yahoo.com/facebook-zynga-generates-12-revenue-them-175509319.html
I've rarely seen backlinks from yahoo for any content partner let alone follow links. The us.lrd.yahoo.com in the hyperlink makes me highly suspicious.

What does the New Frontier of Search Look Like? (Mobile and Tablet)
I'd like to start a discussion thread on the direction of search as it applies to mobile and tablet.
Jeff Haden, one of our Inc.com contributors, wrote an article headline stating that SIRI would be the end of SEO. However, what the article really talks about is the direction mobile search is likely to take:
1. Search results will be bypassed
2. Even more emphasis on local
3. PPC will be irrelevant
4. Emphasis on social media
I think these insights are fairly intuitive and it will be really interesting to see how the medium for mobile and tablet develops. It will be interesting to see what technologies will shape the means by which users find information and not just the search intent of the user.
Please add any insights you may have or good reads you'd like to share here.
