Can Google Read Text in Carousel
Hi There, They best way to check can Google Bot crawl your text is to Fetch page as Google. You can do this in your webmaster panel. If you will be able to read the text yourself then google will not have any problems to do the same. Meanwhile as I know Google has no problems in reading code in Jquery. Here is some additional information from Google support: http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=158587 Hope it helps, Cheers, Russel

SEO moz poor rankings reporting
Hi Scott, You can absolutely rely on the tools. It is 100% accurate. The problem was that you are tracking a specific subdomain and your ranking for that keyword is not in that subdomain. You could resetup the campaign as a root domain campaign as a catch all. That will get you anything off of that domain regardless of whether it's www, blog, store, or whatever. I know it's frustrating and seeing your ranking suddenly drop off can be worrisome to say the least. What you can do in the immediate is to set a 301 redirect from http://ssihvac.com to http://www.ssihvac.com and once Google catches up with that, you'll likely see your ranking position returned to the www without having to archive your campaign or anything like that. You really don't want the www and non-www to resolve independently anyway, so that's something I recommend in general anyway. I hope that helps. Cheers, Joel.

Migrating a very large site
I agree with Irving in that it would be best NOT to migrate. But if you must, here is a useful guide: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/seo-guide-how-to-properly-move-domains

Total link graph question
You all get similar links? It's a good strategy to find links that competitors have and try to get the same ones because.. you know they work since your competitor is ranking (strong links) they are linking to sites very similar to yours so you would be a good fit (high relevance)

Redirect or Rewrite? 2 pages ranking
Looks like you've already performed a 301 redirect, which is what I would have recommended given that it's the easiest and makes the most sense from a users point of view. Also looks like the page is ranking #10 at the moment, and Google's cache of the page (as of this moment) is July 26th. So it would appear that the change is very recent. http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:fh_cev4iQFYJ:www.imageworksstudio.com/custom-web-design+Custom+Web+Design&cd=10&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us Hopefully you see some movement upwards in the next couple of weeks! Best of luck.

Having Content be the First thing the bots see
it should only be the first line as h1, not the content. We styled it all the same so it didn't look silly. WE did make local cities h2....not sure if that's good or bad...but it stinks to serve so many cities and only rank at your physical location. Especially when there are 20 cities with in 20 miles here in DC metro. Not sure if local "city pages" will work or how that changes the landing page experience verse a very interactive home page...Google didn't think about all of that!

SEO dead?
The death of SEO has been greatly exaggerated at least as far back as 1997: https://plus.google.com/117235644077949816393/posts/ccq57PqfYXm h/t: Wil Reynolds I think EGOL's comment ends the debate.

Does google detect all updated page with new links
If you're worried about this then ask the site to do a larger content update on their page rather than just changing a link. Get them to add an editorial note that says when the update happened and why. A lot of "keyword sponsorship" services only change phrases into links and don't actually update the content. Plus if ti comes down to a manual review you've almost got proof that it's not just some crappy links you've paid for.

Where is the Real Value in SEO?
Measuring SEO effectiveness can be done a number of ways, but it largely depends on the scale of the change that is being targeted. If you are looking for a 5% increase in traffic, it's often hard to attribute such change to a particular SEO effort. However, if you are looking for a 10X increase, it is usually pretty clear whether your efforts hit the mark, or missed it in a big way.

Redirect old broken link or ask for HREF change?
Hi there, nothing wrong with contacting the webmaster of the linking site and politely ask, if he/she can update the link. Good way to get in touch with people. And as they say on here, the new SEO is all about relation building. If you don't get an answer after some time, redirect the URL. Hope that helps. Cheers from Germany Sven

Directory VS Article Directory
No direct hotline to Matt Cutts so I'm not going to guess whether directories or article directories were hit more than the other, if at all specifically within Penguin. Know this though - crappy SEO only directories and crappy SEO only article directories are both targets for elimination. Given the leaps and bounds strides Google has made in the past 15 months, I'd suggest avoiding both at all costs. Been suggesting that for years. Hopefully more people will finally listen given that directories AND aritcle directories have clearly been taking hits in recent months.

You notice rankings go up when..
I agree with both you guys... Gone are the days of outbound links hurting your authority. Be useful to users. Users enjoy usefulness. Google gauges your site's usefulness by the behavior of it's visitors... What's better for your rankings? A user clicks through to your site, then realizes "This isn't what I'm looking for" and clicks the back button... bouncing to Google in hopes to find the content they're actually seeking OR... A user clicks through to your site, exclaimes "Hallelujah! I found it!" and clicks from your site to the content... they give it a good look, and the click back to your site, which was so very helpful. You get the point. Too many hours in front of the screen for me today. Donnie said it in a sentence...

Linking Adwords to Analytics for Multiple Clients
Hi, As I know there's no solution for Analytics. It is better to have separate account for every client. For AdWords you can connect it in one in My Client Center Adwords and analytics linking is described in google help Good Luck

Content Stacking - CSS positioning
I really see no problem with this within reason. Your best bet is to start by separating layout code into external CSS and Javascript files, so the majority of the code on your page is just simple HTML elements and text. This is 90% of the battle. Reorganizing the content so that your unique, valuable textual content occurs towards the top of the code is the remaining 10%. However, there haven't been any formal studies to prove that this matters much at all. My guess is that unless this is a change you are making on hundreds if not thousands of pages, you will probably see almost no improvement.
