I agree on finding one more similar term, instead of using the same one twice. Great point!

What would you consider an over optimized title tag? [examples included]
Say you want to target a single page for 2 terms and they both get a good amount of search volume. At the same time you don't want the title tag to be atrocious, do you just choose one? (maybe the one with most search volume).
I'm going to make up some examples which aren't based on real search volume for the sake of time and completely fake and you be the judge:
custom car parts - exact sv: 4000
personalized car parts - exact sv: 5000
wholesale custom car parts - exact sv: 4400Title tag A: Custom Car Parts - Personalized Wholesale Car Parts | Company Name
OR
Title Tag B: Custom Car Parts | Company Name
Or
You recommend.
Do you get where i am going here? Some of the pages on my website target 3-4 terms that mean exactly or pretty close to the same thing.

It's been 2 Months and Google STILL shows my Old URL, why? (help please)
First i just want to say the 301s, change of address and nearly all outer links are changed to the new url since early september. Let me give you an example...
Query: Custom Sweatbands
Ranking URL: www.stbands.com/custom-sweatbands/
**Correct URL that it is 301'd to for over 2 months now: **www.customonit.com/custom-sweatbands/
More... new sitemap has been submitted since the beginning. The old website www.stbands.com doesn't even exist anymore, in fact at the beginning of this month I got pretty angry and blocked search engines via the robots txt for the old domain.
Any way I can get Google to catch on?
Thanks in advance!

RE: Is my schema implemented correctly and not spammy?
I posted this 2 days ago and I understand this is (kind of) new idea so i don't expect everyone to jump on it, I admit it's hilarious that i put bump! haha.
I just want to make sure our dev did it correctly, as he is not SEO saavy. I'm pretty sure he did but just using the community to verify...

RE: Is my schema implemented correctly and not spammy?
Thanks for finding that broken link! We donate and work directly with Susan G Komen
We do this mostly on our other website Custom On It, for custom promotional items.Anything you can find would be great for Schema. We have it implemented but just not sure if it is correct.

RE: Hit Hard By Panda 20, Road To Recovery?
I can't tell you if it's Panda 20 or the EMD update. The domains that dropped aren't EMD's but they are linked to by a few prominent ones which seem to have dropped in the SERPS... hmmm..

RE: Hit Hard By Panda 20, Road To Recovery?
I tried to send a PM by looks like you have them disabled
Maybe you can send me one with your email? -

No email from google because i have not engaged in any black-hat link building. I'll send you a PM.

Hit Hard By Panda 20, Road To Recovery?
It's been 4+ years and we haven't been hit or affected by any update. But, on September 27th we were hit by Panda 20.
Does anyone have any idea where to start to recover? Any resources help at this point. Should i be focusing on re-writing my OLD web content? Should i focus on building more links?
Like i said, anything helps at this point. thanks,
Paul

Drop In Rankings / Traffic... Can you find any technical issues with my site?
I haven't spammed the engines, if anything I haven't done enough link building. So let me start here:
I split my old domain www.STbands.com into two separate domains - www.Suddora.com and www.CustomOnIt.com . The main site now goes to Custom On It and each page directly 301 as it was relevant. I knew there was going to be a little blow back...
The first month went fairly well but last week we noticed a dip in organic search traffic and sure enough some of our main keywords are now suffering.
I am wondering if this is because we haven't been building enough links to the new domains or if our new eCommerce CMS (magento enterprise) has technical SEO issues that is giving Google trouble. Nothing on GWT looks terribly wrong, should i be searching for something specific?
Anything helps at this point, we are in dire need of some direction on what could be wrong. Any suggestions?

Splitting our main website in Two... What is the fastest way for the new sites to become a brand in Googles eyes.
In a couple weeks our main website (which generates all of the revenue) will be split into two because of a long term branding / identity crisis. So my question is, how can i make sure (besides obvious 301 redirects) that these 2 new fresh urls become a brand as quick as possible in googles eyes?
So far i am thinking of things like: press releases, blog posts with brand mentions. I am not ignorant and expect this to happen overnight, but we need a strong foundation to build on, which is why i am asking
Anyone got a list / case study / advise so I can really blow it up on launch week?
Thanks

RE: Splitting one Website into 2 Different New Websites with 301 redirects, help?
Adam,
I am highly considering 301-ing the homepage to our main source of revenue and because it actually ranks along with our other pages. If we do this i am guessing we'd be taking more of a hit on our other new website, which i am willing to do.
This sounds like the best option to keep revenue a float while we build these brands back up. Assuming I will be launching everything in August, how many links to recommend I build to each domain?
Thanks,
Paul

Splitting one Website into 2 Different New Websites with 301 redirects, help?
Here's the deal. My website stbands.com does fairly well. The only issue it is facing a long term branding crisis. It sells custom products and sporting goods. We decided that we want to make a sporting goods website for the retail stuff and then a custom site only focusing on the custom stuff. One website transformed and broken into 2 new ones, with two new brand names.
The way we are thinking about doing this is doing a lot of 301 redirects, but what do we do with the homepage (stbands.com) and what is the best practice to make sure we don't lose traffic to the categories, etc.? Which new website do we 301 the homepage to?
It's rough because for some keywords we rank 3 or 4 times on the first page. Scary times, but something must be done for the long term. Any advise is greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance. We are set for a busy next few months

Facebook Like my website or fan page??
Should I want people facebook liking my website or my fan page? Is there a way to link the two? Here is my dilemma...
People liking my website will obviously have an effect on rankings within bing and google possibly. BUT - People liking my fan page will allow me to engage with them in the future about givaways, sales and so on. I'm stuck, is there a way to link these? Or if not, which do you recommend?
