The tool is not working correctly because I'm having the same problem with two different computers. Both running Firefox 4.0.1, Win7 and OSX Snow Leopard. Australian and European domains show the USA flag.

Open Site Explorer's delayed update
I checked Linkscape's scheduled update and the already delayed update on the 20th was moved to the 25th June. Normally the index is updated during the first two weeks of the month but this month's update is very late.
Our monthly reports are based on the link data of OSE, as well as the PA and DA values. It's very embarrassing because I can't finish the monthly reports and my clients are becoming impatient. It's a very inconvenient excuse that a 3rd party tool developer is the reason for the delayed reports, clients don't care about SEOMoz.
Lucky I found that Facebook post about Linkscape's update calendar and I can at least refer to something. SEOMoz' monthly fee is not cheap and as a customer I do require a bit more communication and support.
Why is the update delayed? Should we ignore June's update and wait for July's update? If June's update is on 25th then when will be July's update?
I'd appreciate an email to PRO users about this situation.

RE: Google local listing
Do you mean presenting the phone number on the website? Yes, it is very important to present the phone number on the website. You should use the same phone number when you register in Google Places (Maps) and other business directories.
Phone number is a primary key in local SEO and if you want to go further, visit schema.org/LocalBusiness and you can find information about implementing microdata.

RE: Why is my domain not being indexed by OSE?
"We start crawling from the top down until we've crawled 59,000,000,000 pages (which is about 25% the amount in Google's index).
Therefore, if the site is not linked to by one of these seed URLs (or one of the URLs linked to by them in the next update) then it won't show up in our index. Sorry!"
More info here
Also, the OSE index updated every 4-6 weeks, so don't expect immediate results.

RE: Large Paid Directories - Still Worth It?
As far I know, registering your business in these well known directories is not considered as "link buying". These are "quality" business directories and (according to them) they do filter dodgy, spammy, low quality websites.
I've registered a large number of websites in BOTW, Yahoo, Business.com, etc and never had any penalties.

RE: Open Site Explorer's delayed update
Neither can I, that's why I started this thread.
"Do you realize that it only covers the top 25% of pages from the web?"
Yes, I'm aware of this. This isn't what I complained about.
"With the above understood, you are making a mistake if you are presenting this report to clients with any level of significance."
What other tools would you use for a link building report? YSE? Majestic? Webmaster Tools? Clients pay for link building and we had to choose a tool that will be used as reference.
"This is not some simple program running on 1 pc..."
That's quite obvious.
"...their tools, as imperfect as they may be, are still great"
I didn't complain about the tool, I complained about customer support. I pay for a service and I expect some reliance and feedback. Many SEO agencies use OSE for benchmarking and for monthly reports and if the update is delayed then we want to know about it, so we can prepare.
SEOMoz probably knew that the update is late. I'd really appreciate an email notification when a delayed update is further delayed. I checked the updated and it was scheduled for the 20th, now it scheduled for the 25th.

RE: Why is my domain not being indexed by OSE?
I'm afraid you have to wait for the next OSE index update. I don't know how to trigger it to index websites. Sometimes I have the same problem, even when the website has a campaign.
I suggest that SEOMoz should prioritise PRO users' websites and make sure that their websites get indexed. For example, a website that is present in a live campaign should be queued for the next OSE index update. We pay for the index updates, don't we?

RE: Can SEOMOZ do Local SEO ?
Hi Lewis,
Tracking correct local search results requires proxies in every state and city which is a significant cost. Basically they need a proxy server in every city because Google identifies local searches on city and suburb level too. Having computers all over the US running keywords ranking reports is simply too expensive.
If they had proxies in every state, then which city should be targeted? For example: California. LA or San Francisco ?

RE: Can SEOMOZ do Local SEO ?
Yes, Google allows you to change location but it seems like the search results are still different, probably because Google uses your IP address as a variable.
I use a VPN provider which has 50+ servers around the world and use their VPN servers as proxies.
