Self inflicted duplicate content penalty?
How many pages do you have total? If it is a small number this is an easy fix. A lot of the time people trust content to be unique and don't check, I myself am guilty of this. Thanks for reminding me that this can and does happen.

Big rise in "Keyword not defined"
Can anyone confirm if this will have an impact on the traffic data showing in Moz? I'm assuming that the data is coming from the Google Analytics data and will therefore be affected in the same way?

How to add an affiliate store
I would create landing pages for product categories and use rel=canonical on the actual product pages.

Keyword Rankings Compare to X not working
Hey Grumpy Carl, I apologize for the delay in getting back to you. The Q&A questions don't come to the Help Team directly so it can be some time before they get sent over to us. You can always email us directly at help@moz.com for a speedier response. I looked into your account and it looks like you have 5 campaigns, so I wasn't sure which campaign/competitor you were seeing this issue with to look into it directly, but I can explain what is likely to be causing the issue. It looks like most of the competitors you are tracking are set up as a root domain, but we are only able to track competitors at the root domain level. The non-www version of your competitors are what you are tracking in your campaign, but it looks like most of your competitors are ranking under the www subdomain in the search engines. If you add the www subdomain in front of your competitors from your edit campaigns settings tab, you should get some pretty awesome rankings data next time your rankings are pulled. Unfortunately, we aren't able to force an update between the automatic updates. Here is some more info on campaign settings: http://moz.com/help/pro/campaign-setup I hope this clears things up. Please let me know if you need any further assistance. Chiaryn Help Team Ninja

14,000 blog comment spam links placed on one domain!!
I understand your concern, but if you don't think that contacting the site to have the links removed is a viable option, then disavow really is your only recourse. The only way to find out if Google will accept that as enough is to try it and see. I wouldn't obsess over this one domain, but when you file for reconsideration, it will be important to show progress in other areas. In other words, maybe you can't remove these 14K links (and will just disavow the domain), but make sure you remove some other, bad links, and show an effort somewhere. Beyond cooperation from the webmaster, your only other recourse is legal, and that's just not going to be worth the time, money, and grief, in 99% of cases. Plus, if a past SEO company did this, you don't even have much legal recourse - the 3rd-party site didn't do anything wrong.

Merging sites, ensuring traffic doesn't die
I have had a lot of success using internal landing pages that are targeted to a single topic. For your client, their homepage might be rentaluxurycar.com that is more general in its content; but then have individual pages that are focused on each make and model, i.e. rentaluxurycar.com/astmonmartindb7, with keywords focused on renting a DB7. I would also push the client on letting the six subsites run alongside the main site. If they have different domains and unique content, then they can crowd the search results.

Problems with Crawl Diagnostics/New Campaign
Hi Carl, Are you referring to the message that appears on the dashboard? If so it will not go away until you close the message on the top right corner or once the full crawl is completed. It is a little confusing because it says you will have some results in a couple of hours and it is only there as a welcome message. Hope that helps!

Website 'stolen', no contact details
Thanks for the reply. We went down the route of blocking the other domains from accessing the server in the end. Hopefully the duplicate versions of the website won't cause too much trouble. One thing am considering is adding the domains to webmaster tools and removing them from google, that should help with duplicate content issues. If they are pointing to our server and accessing our files then we may as well exploit that for a webmaster tools verification action

How to remove a thin site penalty
Thanks for your help gents'. All the content on the site was meant to be 100% unique (I got someone in my company to create with the help of external suppliers). I checked samples and they seemed fine but it appears that all isn't what it first appeared. I'll get the content replaced and get back to it. Thanks

A backlinks question
Hey, a couple of links to the top 100 products would likely make a big difference, just try to keep it natural. You may do better with a highly scalable content + outreach campaign to bring in hundreds of links as manual link building for this many pages is just not practical. Or, alternatively, some kind of competition or some such to try and stimulate natural linking to the product pages - obviously, idea needs fleshing out and not knowing your industry it's a total shot in the dark but... there is always a way. Best of luck! Marcus

Exporting Twitter and FB data in report
Hi ccgdm! Thanks for writing in. Yes, adding social data to custom reports is something that we planned for. It's on our development backlog, and it's definitely a higher priority. I don't have a release date, but we're hoping to have it within the next 6 months. Sorry I couldn't be more help! Cheers, Jackie
