Good Newswires????
I don't know if there are any real effective "free newswires" You may be able to find a database of press contacts for your particular industry, but most companies vocas / prweb / and busineseswire attempt to make $$ for putting press through the wire. As for the 3 mentioned newswires above, i have used all three and can safely say that businesswire is leaps and bounds better than vocus / prweb... the rub is that it is also exponentially more expensive. bwire does offer real organic SEO with their news outlets as opposed to the other two. however, for decent inexpensive reach, i can recommend prweb. You can get a good press release out on the wire for about 80.00. I hope this helps.. if you have any more detailed questions about these, ill be more than happy to clarify in greater detail.

Magento and Duplicate content
Gregster, I assume that you have found an answer to your question by now. However, I wanted to offer up what looks to be an extremely in depth and comprehensive walkthrough on Magento SEO from yoast.com. They have several sections on duplicate content, as well as a canonical plugin you may find useful. http://yoast.com/articles/magento-seo/ Best of Luck!

Deep Links Percentage Split
As has been said - natural? Something to consider when link building is the content you have that can be linked to. Then base your prospect hunt in niches with relevance specifically to your content - almost along the lines of treating every page you have as a landing page target. The more relevant your page, the more likely the visitor will stick to your site.

Page Cache And Index
For indexing, you can do a site: in the search engine to see what's been indexed. To look at a specific page, in addition to the site: operator, add inurl: and some words from the URL to help narrow down the results. For caching, I use the Resurrect Pages extension for Firefox. Right click while you're in the page, and you can select one of several caching sites to see if that page is available. It's also handy for when you're getting a 404 on a page and want to see what was there. According to the plugin page, you can use the following caching sites: Searches through five big page cache/mirrors: CoralCDN Google Cache Yahoo! Cache The Internet Archive MSN Cache Gigablast WebCite The extension is available at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/resurrect-pages/
