How to get people to visit your forum / get the conversation started?
Look up the 90 9 1 principle (ignore the debates about the actual numbers, its the philosophy that counts) Try this as starters: The 90-9-1 Principle Applied to Forums

Replace Header Text With Image
To achieve a balance between visual aesthetics and search engine interoperability, you could use a Javascript font renderer like cufon: http://cufon.shoqolate.com/generate/ - which will give you nice anti-aliasing. Look at Google Fonts too - http://www.google.com/webfonts#ChoosePlace:select I would redesign & work towards getting a H1 on there rather than working backwards

Keyword Strategy for Very Large Website Launch
In an ideal world the links to your homepage should be descriptive and help people looking for what you offer to find you. So, most of those would be branded terms then there would be a wide variety of descriptive terms with some having more value than others. Re selling your application, what does it do? Is it in demand? is it unique? Does it do it better than the free ones? Are you in a position where getting the app out there and build brand recognition is more important than generating a few bucks? There are no generic answers for these kind of questions, it depends on the business and your specific goals.

Pagerank Update - Decreased Rankings
Its clear the term pagerank is ill defined. I would instead say that it is"clearly defined" but "poorly understood." description of pagerank PageRank is merely a measure of connectivity. It is determined by the number of pages that link to your site, the PageRank of those pages and the number of outgoing links that the hold. KW rank is determined by a very large number of factors. The greenbar pagerank that you see in the toolbar may not even be used in the same form that you see for determining rankings.

Ranking Tracking Tool Not Accurate?
Oh that would be evil, especial just after another update. Would certainly keep SEO's on their toes, and cause me to pull out more hair trying to rationalize some of the things I have seen over the past week.

Outsourcing Content - Finding Superior Providers...
If you believe you can provide this type of quality then repost in this thread and tell me and I will contact those of you who can for a sample order and select who I will use. Jared, You came into this thread asking a very different question. Now you are soliciting us like we are content shops. That's not a recipe for winning. Please reread my replies to your question above. It directed you to find a person who is already an effective writer and proven expert in your field. These are people who write about a topic because they are experts who love the topic. Not a person who needs to do a pile of research to meet the minimums of what you perceive to be good content. Your post above tells me that you think that content in a specific field is a commodity that you can buy from almost any vendor for a few dollars per article and threaten the provider with bad feedback if the try to give you spin. If you are looking for filler content you can probably get that for a few bucks per article and it will often be spin. it will not attract links or climb the rankings. My suggestion is to find the expert and be willing to pay several hundred dollars, maybe a couple thousand for one piece of best-on-the-web content. Then promote that content like the treasure that it is. If you want content experts who can do the above you must go out and find them not advertise. That's my experience.

Did Something Happen With Google's Algo On 06/09/2011?
I only ever had to file a reconsideration request once. In that instance it was processed in a bit under 3 weeks. Google will respond, it may take a month though. If I was in your position, I would continue to look at every aspect of my site and links as try to determine any possible reason there could be to remove your site from the index. In the mean time, wait the few weeks for Google to respond to your request. I can't recommend 301'ing the site at this point. If the site was permanently removed from the index, then certainly use 301s to your new site.
