Within the Q&A forum, is it spam to include a website in our signature?
Gaston, This is a good discussion question and EGOL has given much of what I think. I think the overarching idea with Moz has always been it was high quality advice and no one was doing anything overt to make it about marketing themselves or their companies. Having been on Moz a long time I can tell you that the comments to someone purposefully trying to market themselves generally tend to quell repeat offenders. So, the soft sell is the approach most use in Q&A if they are doing anything beyond truly helping, discussing and learning. Good question though, Robert

Am I the only one seeing the Moz's points ranking with mixed rankings?
Yeap, that was my guess too. Even though it's kind of my duty to report these bugs

SITEMAP - Does <changefreq>and <image:title>have any apreciable effect?</image:title></changefreq>
My sitemap file has them but only because Screaming Frog and WordPress include that information when they generate the sitemap. Reading the Google forum, there is a reply from John Mueller from 2014 that he specifically says change frequency and priority do not affect ranking of URL's once they are indexed https://productforums.google.com/d/msg/webmasters/w9o8bTgqb9c/7hS7hog3ZIYJ He also states that last mod date is good for Google to know. We all know that you can take things said by Google with a grain of salt, but this is also an instance where it is specifically stated so I would tend to believe it to be true.

Description in the snippet varies from search to search.. Have you seen that?
Well, yes and no. Because of how varied any relevant search could be, you can't necessarily hit every single variation to a good enough extent that Google's algorithm would then never change your description. You _could s_tuff literally every piece of info into the meta. Or you could write more naturally and make sure all the proper meta and/or schema and/or other tags are implemented properly. You just need to make sure you are hitting your targets for descriptions, that they are good for the user experience, and that they are not stuffed or spammy. In the previous example, you could have updated your description to mention "Seller of Red Widgets & Green Widgets!" and the original [green widget] searcher might now be seeing your actual description in the SERPs. But another [green widget] searcher just spent the earlier part of their day Googling [widget coupons], [widget sales], [coupon sites], [internet coupon pages], [groupon], and/or [widget deals]. Now, after an hour of looking for coupons they search [green widgets] and you'd think your description would show up like it did for the other searcher but instead Google notices that you have schema tags for an upcoming sale listed on Green Widgets that was nestled somewhere halfway towards the bottom of your page... and all of a sudden your description is algorithmically changed to include that Green Widget Discount info even though it wasn't in your description. But the page was relevant and contextual information lead to an improved description. (this though is a hypothetical best case scenario, its not always that amazing and contextual... sometimes its just Google randomly truncating a sentence cause they feel the middle of the paragraph is most relevant)

Does traditional linkbuilding work to rank an app in the app store?
Hi Gaston, As far as I'm aware, inbound links are not a direct ranking factor in the app store rankings. That said, as Eric mentions, links can impact things we do know are factors, such as downloads. So rather than focus on links as a metric, you're better off focusing on driving downloads and reviews, for which links from other places might be a channel, as we know these are direct factors for ASO.

Besides description and design optimization, is there any other main factor that we can influence to get better App Store rankings?
Hi Bridget, Yeap, I do know that those points are straightforward. I was just wondering about any factors that could be taken into action, such as links or social media. Speacking of wich, I've found an article, https://www.semrush.com/blog/13-essential-key-strategies-for-ranking-mobile-apps-in-app-stores-and-landing-pages/ that speaks about linkbuilding. Of course Linkbuilding is not the main reason to get better rankings, but as it says, help to improve SERPs.

Which software for Play Store rakings do you use?
Hi Gaston, In the past I've used MobileDevHQ (now called TUNE) and AppAnnie. MDHQ used to be free I believe, but now is a paid tool. AppAnnie is a paid tool but there are some functionalities available for a free account I think so they may be worth checking out depending on what you need.

How much SEO damage would it do having a subdomain site rather directory site?
There are a few good use-cases for subdomains; higher education sites use them frequently, and often have organizational need for it. Another instance I can think of is international websites that want to have different sites for each country in which they operate. This can help each division operate a site without having to go through HQ every time they need an update. That being said, given the typical website, with SEO considerations, I always favor subdirectories for the simple reason of keep all domain metrics (links, authority, etc.) together, rather than splitting the metrics across subdomains.
