Best Software to Track when a link I have Submitted goes live
That will depend on the directory tools like Synup, Moz Local can tell you when they go up on certain sites. If it's not a popular one there are a few different scenarios : Do they give you a temporary page that is only visible to you and will go live after it's approved? You can check the HTTP header response fo it and if it returns 200 it's probably approved and live. Do they give you a live URL that says it's pending verification? Scrape the page and use XPath to see id that bit of text changes. etc Give us some more info on it and perhaps we can help.

Is anyone aware of stats stating how many people abandon pages the deeper they get in a site?
Hello, If you have access to the analytics of a site you can look in Behaviour and then see the Behaviour Flow. This will break down the pages people land on, how many click through, and how many drop off at each point in their journey. I hope this is of some help, Cheers, Luke

What is the best way to redirect visitors to certain pages of your site based on their location?
Thats a good point actually, being UK based, i tend to forget States in the US is how you're likely to do location redirects (that and i read Colorado as Canada... my bad). The short answer i think is not directly. You could use the users IP address and something called mode_geoip in order to handle the redirects, it takes a bit more configuration and setup though. Im seeing lots about redirecting on country, not all that much on redirecting on state, but a good starting point is perhaps this Stackoverflow thread. It's probably something you'll need to ask a developer to do. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9838344/how-to-redirect-domain-according-to-country-ip-address

Can a feeder site link directly to the main site?
Yes, I'd definatley do that. You are just cross-linking form other domains onto your own site. If the domains are registered in different IP Ranges even better.

How Does Google Treat Scapper Sites?
If you're worried about scraper sites--at Moz, there are a ton of sites scraping our blog content, for example--I strongly recommend implementing the rel=canonical tag on your site. Often scrapers grab the entire HTML of your page, and thus, they will grab rel=canonical, which will signal back to search engines that your content is the original content.

Are directories still a valid practice? If so what are some of your favorite and most authoritative directories?
You are aware of the latest Pigeon updates, right? And the move of directories into a higher valuation by Google for serps? Here's how I blogged about same - http://www.canuckseo.com/index.php/2014/08/google-pigeon-update-gotta-know/ and a quick Google for "pigeon update favors directories" shows many more SEO practitioners with the same view... Yelp has especially been moved up in my own client roster serps....
