Actually, I got the POV = Point of View OK, it was the Miveu = My View I struggled with a little. Like Fransisco, I don't see any problem with the videos - other than some are not very good. David, I think your product is really cool and I'd expect that a lot of your customers are going to be posting videos they have made with all kinds of keywords. If I were going to market your idea, I'd have a blog on your site and embed some of the coolest YouTube videos that your customer make in some of the posts. A good blog that you update with really good stuff will be great for your SEO anyway. This is a product you should be able to have great fun with!

You don't need to use a PR Newswire of course. In my experience as a PR, only a minority of journos use them. Far better to target individual journos after researching your key targets. Do something bespoke for each journo.

Hi David, At the end of the day a domain is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Sedo.com is a domain broker and it is in their best interest to get the most they can for a domain hence prices are slightly inflated on that site. Just because your domain is only 4 letters doesn't mean it is worth big money. Several 4 letter domains sell on Go Daddy auctions for only a few hundred dollars. Although the domain is aged, which will help to increase its value, it doesn't really have much commercial value behind it and so is not really worth that much. Also, having checked opensiteexplorer the domain doesn't have a lot of authority or links pointing to it so to be fair it isn't worth the several thousands you are asking for it. Adam.

If I understand correctly you want to ensure that a piece of content triggers a Google alert. If that is the case you want to make sure that you ping as many services as possible when you publish new content you also want make sure you submit your RSS feeds to any relevant RSS services this will increase the likelihood a new web page is crawled and indexed and ultimately triggers an alert.

EGOL, I would have responded directly to your response, but found yet another bug between this site and the iPad. I wrote to tech support, but the response was, well...., not so favorable. To answer your question, yes I tried it. The short story is it takes 15 or 16 keystrokes to accomplish what should be one keystroke. I don't want to rock the boat too hard about the iPad issues because I'm a newb. I think it's an easy fix. If any administrators monitor this, feel free to tap my shoulder at MOZcon. I would be happy to help get it fixed. This is a great forum and I want to thank everyone for sharing their wealth of knowledge and experience so freely. This is definitely something that can be pulled off. The answer above correctly states that contacting the right person is going to give you the most chance of making this happen, as well as making it as easy as possible for them to do it. However, a few things that could improve your chances: Pick up the phone, if you can speak to the right person this is better than email. If email, make sure your email is super polite and massages their ego. If emailing the webmaster, talk about how you like their site and mention something specific (a new article that you read recently and why it was interesting), no need for this to be long, but show you like and use their site and are not just emailing for a link never to return. If speaking with the article writer, talk about some of their other articles etc. State the benefits of making this link active... why should they do it? I presume your site is of value (thus the mention) so say that, say how you believe this article is still of value and how a link to your site would provide their users with a better experience etc.

I was thinking of doing that too, but it's just too much work. This site only gets a little traffic, so I would need to build it up and then build something good to blog about. I'm just going to 301 it for now. Maybe in the future I will be inspired to do something better with it. Good thinking though. THANKS!

HMMM??? Good input from both of you, maybe a combination of both. When to do site/index.php? It stands the most to gain and loose at the same time. I'm thinking I should start with all the things that I know are blatantly "wrong" and fix all those things first. There is no way this could hurt anything. Then maybe do some experimenting with the other pages that are currently doing well and see what the results are. Then I should know what works, what doesn't.
