Thanks Gregory,
When you Re-Submitted the file, did you include the old domains? I am unsure as to whether or not keep the original domains into the updated file, as i haven't read anything against it or in favor for such method.

Is there any specific format to update the Disavow file? Also if I submitted the file a months ago, and need to update it now... should I leave the old 'excluded domains' or should I remove them?
Lets say this is what I have: How would you update it?
#explanation from to Google went here... and ended here.
"domain:exampledomainalreadysubmitted1.com"
"domain:exampledomainalreadysubmitted2.com"
"domain:exampledomainalreadysubmitted3.com"
Thanks for your input
I have been looking for a while for a good an clear Step by Step guide for moving a site from an old to a new domain... so I guess a good discussion here, could help many web masters have a smooth transition.
So in your opinion, beside the obvious, what are the most important steps you must take?
Here is what I do:
1. 301 old site to new one and TEST.
2. Check Internal Links - Double Check for 404's.
3. Update your Social Profiles with new URL.
4. Let GWT and BWT of the change and request a Crawl.
5. Contact as Many of Webmaster as you possibly can to point your links to your new domain.
What's missing? What have you found helpful and/or Effective?
Sure...
We found out the hard way... when trying to access the public profile it read a message that our account was suspended bue to the guideline infringement .. then it gave us the option to dispute which seemed took forever, so I tried to escalate the problem with our AdWords Account Manager as we wanted to use Google + extension...
I believe their guidelines are pretty explicit and they must run some face recognition software.
I would stick with your picture as you have it, and if company branding is important to you maybe hold a sign or something... although I see you must work for AdServe??? I can tell by the background.
The answer is No... your account will get flagged and it will end up being a nightmare getting it back up live... We run into that problem when trying to create a business profile, accidentally added the logo to the 'human' + page and it took over 6 weeks to get it back to work.
How would you 301 redirect and entire folder to a specific file within the same domain?
Scenario
www.domain.com/folder to www.domain.com/file.html
Thanks for your Input...
Whats your opinion?
I was wondering if anyone has any feedback regarding this site: http://www2.submityourarticle.com/ ?
Thanks George! Do you recommend a specific CMS for Cold Fusion?
My team is in the process of redesigning our main website.
In order to balance Conversion Rate Optimization and SEO we are considering adding some features to the new site – HOWEVER we are wondering whether or not this will make any significant to our SERP’s. All together I am looking for your opinion – on two distinct areas.
NOTE: Our site is built in plain HTML- No CMS.
First (HOME PAGE) Content Slider above the fold. Our current site does a good job of utilizing this prime space with a balanced use of H1 and Text. However – it is not optimized for conversions. We feel a slider will kill both birds with one stone. Have you have any experience with this? What are your thoughts? Do SE’s like this?
SECOND (NAVIGATION) We are adding a submenu to the site. Besides our Horizontal top menu and additional menu in a Column format is being discussed. We are thinking that the left placement will work better with conversions – however what do search engines like most – left or right navigations?
Your input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Daniel
Agreed! See the problem is that these companies are probably reaching out to small businesses... explaining the association with SERP's and Social Signals. Then they pitch you $29.99 for 500 Likes... if these companies are in existence and continue to be.. is because they are doing a good job at selling ... Now is it a 'fatal technique' ? I would probably say Yes... but would like to see some real data to make sure. (Not that I am interesting in Purchasing Likes) but because it is no different than 'Buying LINKS' - and this is, unfortunately, a common practice in our industry.
It is really interesting about the account association... and it makes complete sense. Thanks for the feedback! Thanks,
Thanks!!! I am so uncomfortable to sign up to anything that looks too good to be true... and this is one those. You make a great point that I didn’t even consider… and that is a good one “you're decreasing the amount of real fans will see your content” I will keep that in mind.
I have been approached numerous times by these companies claiming to provide hundreds if not thousands of 'real' Facebook Likes. Has anyone have had any experience with them?
