_Nope, it is not going to affect it as far as my knowledge is concerned. Unless you are making a 301 redirection to the new domain, there is no such possibility of carrying on the legacy of the penalized domain. Keep up the good work and you will be just fine. _

RE: Can't find mistake in robots.txt
_Hi, _
_Just wondering .. Did you save the txt file in ANSI format? Sometimes, people mistakenly save it different format and this is where the problem creeps in. _

RE: Are PR releases good for Link Building?
Nope, new landing page is not that much required. However, since it is a paid promotion kind of thing, you need to add no follow tag against the anchor text if you wish to be on the safe side.

RE: Link wheel still working ?
_It is a worthless practice and believe me, you are not going to get any benefit out of it. After Penguin and Panda update, this practice is now being treated as another spammy SEO technique whose sole purpose is to push the rankings of the website artificially.
Rather than wasting your time on shoddy techniques like this, you should try your best to invest your time and money to come up with great quality content that adds value to your website. _

RE: Are PR releases good for Link Building?
_I hate the idea of considering Press Release as another form of Link Building. It has a simple and straightforward purpose and that is – helping you promote a new service or product. So, when you are trying to promote your website via Press Release, you need to make sure that you are not making any kind of compromise on the quality front. And for God’s sake do not use exact matched anchor in the press releases as it may make your website more vulnerable to algorithmic updates. _

RE: I need Help with Google!!!!
Yes, you can try but there is no surety that it will start showing a snippet of your website at the right side panel.

RE: I need Help with Google!!!!
_This is known as Knowledge Graph and it is still in its infancy. I do not think that it is that easy for a company to make the Knowledge Graph working for a brand. We need to wait few days more before we get more details about this. _

RE: Home page mysteriously not ranking at all
I think you are over emphasizing the keyword – “San Diego Newborn Photographer”. Titles of almost all the individual blog posts start with one or two general words describing the photograph and then followed by the key phrase – “San Diego Newborn Photographer”. Would be great if you can add some varieties here.
And add alt tags against the images [do not focus on keywords solely here; rather you should add descriptive alt tags here]. And create an image sitemap if you do not have one.

RE: Google Love and Bing Hate
What I have learnt from my personal experience that Bing is not as smart as Google in locating unnatural link patterns, spammy practices, heavily keywords specific pages and other sneaky things that some webmasters still do to increase the ranking of their website in search engines. Now, as Google is getting smart at their algo, you may less likely to find spammy sites that often in Google as compared to Bing and probably for this reason, your website is on 4th page.
However, I am not saying that all the first pages websites in Bing are spammy. Just a thought J

RE: Duplicate content from category pages?
Ohh sorry.. In that case, you do not need to implement canonical code .. sorry my bad ..:(
_So, what I understand is that you are concerned about boiler plate template and what I personally feel is that you do not need to worry about them because this is not going to affect the visibility of your website in one way or the other. _

RE: Will placing links in articles on my site help my rankings?
yes .. it is fine as long as you are not using it for the sole purpose of giving a push to your website's visibility.. take it as an attempt to make it easier for people to navigate your website.

RE: Duplicate content from category pages?
if the same product is available two or more different paths/URLs, you need to set the preferred version as canonical. This will fix the issue of internal duplicate content. -
http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.in/2009/02/specify-your-canonical.html
Make sure that you are adding link reference of only canonical version of the URLs in the XML sitemap.

RE: How do I know what links are bad enough for the Google disavow tool?
This is another tricky situation. I think the message you have received is not about Penalty, it is just a precautionary message send to you just to inform that the link profile does not look natural and needs some pruning. What I believe is that if the links not coming from low quality link pages, directories, forums, web 2.0 sites etc [I am assuming that they are at one point built by an SEO company], you need to get rid of them.
_Take it as precautionary measure because your link profile has already raised the flag of spam and therefore, it is your duty to clean it. It is better safe than sorry. And Losing one or two keyword rank is far better than losing all the visibility altogether. _

RE: Forum Signature Links
And of course, you should not join all the forums that come along the way. I have seen people skipping reputed forums because they do not give instant back link from the signature section. This is a sickening mentality. Participating in forum is about helping others and not just getting a link back from them. So, if you wish you can add a link back to your website with Branded Keyword, avoid exact matched anchor texts like plague and you will be just fine.

RE: How To Determine Bad Backlinks?
Great discussion going on here .. OK let us face the truth like a man .. Google just do not want us to do SEO .. all it wants that we should be creating awesome content , tools and things like and when people find them, they will start giving the website a credit in the form of a natural link back .. so far so good .. but the problem is that this rarely happens .. however, again the scope of Internet marketing is no longer limited to link building but as things are, we are still heavily dependent on this .. and there is no way to deny

RE: Effect of blog commenting on domain authority?
_Do not take it an SEO advantage. It helps you build your brand and of course, you get a link back when you are making a comment. So, for sure, there is an SEO benefit that you simply cannot ignore. _

RE: Duplicate page content
_And yes, make sure that XML sitemap and other navigational link is hyperlinked with the canonical version of the URLs otherwise, it will be sending confusing signals to search engines. _

RE: Are My footer links bad?
_What I believe is that if the purpose of keeping links in the footer is to make it easier for your visitors to find related information, keep it. It is not going to hurt you. Just keep the number to a logical limit and you will just be fine. However, to be on the safe side, if you are cross linking, you can add “nofollow” attribute against the links. _

RE: Is my Company Blog Causing issues?
Sorry again for disagreeing. I think the blog should be on the domain – yourdomain.com/blog
_And the blog should show some characters. I mean the blog should have Google Authorship implemented and should provide enough information about the author and active participation of the author. This is not a hit and run game. You need to write content that appeals targeted audience directly. And links will automatically come to you if the content is great, however needs a marketing push from your side; no need to chase the links by creating another domain. _
