I do like to give new themes a chance to bed in and get some feedback first so I agree with you on that one. Re the cost this could be an attempt to get some sales in on the theme to boost it's popularity.
Side note: I have just started using this one http://themeforest.net/item/impreza-retina-responsive-wordpress-theme/6434280 as it has the visual composer built in (a separate plugin which you can further extend - http://codecanyon.net/item/visual-composer-page-builder-for-wordpress/242431), it's well written and I am raving about it. Better that Avada in my personal opinion. (No affiliate link, no personal or commercial interest in my recommendation)
Sure you know already - Use a child theme
I also would suggest that you delete them as no search engine use them and as already suggested it gives your competitors a list of keywords that you are trying to optimise for.
Think content rather than a list of keywords
Hi, I believe your question is answered here via .htaccess file rather than web.config. Moz blog: How To: Advanced rel="canonical" HTTP Headers
Good article here on Moz that may interest you: Using the Correct Hreflang Tag: A New Generator Tool
Hi, it helped us rank better for each product page. It allowed me to focus on a single product rather than variations of a product and made our site easier to navigate for the visitor.
Hi, We had the same issue. Each product having many variations each creating it's own URL, what I ended up doing was to have a single product per page and represent all it's variations on that single page. Easier to demonstrate:
http://www.reddiseals.com/product/brighton-fastener/
Also the reviews are on this page which creates the schema.
Hope that helps.
I can see that you are listed:
https://www.google.com/search?q=site:www.solopcms.com
I also see you ranked a position 6 with
https://www.google.com/search?q=Lexus+PCM+ECM+ECU+Auto+Computer+Repairs
Are you using moz tools to check 'Crawl Issues' also Fectch as Google - https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/158587?hl=en&ref_topic=4617736
PS you have an missing closing bracket at the end of your home page plus others
AdWords I don't believe would negatively affect your organic rankings. If you post up the URL then myself and other could provide you with more suggestions.
Now this may cause some debate, personally I prefer the www version, you can see that moz prefers the non www version and there is a article here http://www.searchenginejournal.com/canonicalization-seo-should-i-use-www-or-not/6950/ that may help you make your own decision.
Basically choose one and stick with it.
Dennis is correct you must select just one for consistency. As you are using Magento this redirect tutorial may be useful for you:
http://kb.siteground.com/how_to_redirect_magento_to_open_through_www/
Don't forget to set your preferred domain in Google webmaster tool: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/44231?hl=en
As a general .htaccess redirect this may help others:
Add the www.
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^yourdomain.com [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.yourdomain.com/$1 [L,R=301]
Remove the www.
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^yourdomain.com$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://yourdomain.com/$1 [L,R=301]
Sorry if I have given the impression that moving a WordPress site is hard. It's fairly straight forward if you follow the instructions given.
You could also make use of robots.txt file to resolve it.
Disallow: /*?sort=
NOTE: Be very careful when blocking search engines. Test and test again!
Hi Gianluca
I think you have misunderstood my answer. I am not redirecting the user to their language.
I am referring to two sites the first Uniband. This displays the colours & SKU of the product on a single page, the colours change depending on IP lookup via Maxmind (Maxmind databases are among the most popular and accurate IP geolocation databases available), this site is not multilingual.
Second site, reddiplex is just an example of a multilingual site, the plugin displays the language based on browser preferences, however the user can choose whichever language they prefer by selecting a flag
