Unless we know the customer's financial history we can't offer fair and reasonable advice If you tell me this before you start asking I am will be more comfortable about providing it.  You probably do this now. hmmm... I honestly don't know. The sales teams do build a rapport with the customer over the phone, which helps I think. I'd need to see their 'script' (they don't have scripts as such, more like checklist to ensure they cover the regulatory/legal requirements) to know for sure. Jimmy, this is why I am leaning towards a sub-domain. Though the previous posters seem to have very valid points about why a subfolder may be better for us... As for making it easier for the devs, that wasn't exactly what I meant... They've said they need to know which way we want to go in order to put together a plan. I think it will impact how they set certain things (I don't understand) up so will make a difference to the time scales etc - which is what our boss is asking for!

We are looking into an MVC plugin for our umbraco site. I believe there can be custom elements, such as the sign-up process. Would you say it's better to host it on a sub-domain? I'm thinking this is the way forward. What are your thoughts? Within our niche there are three very popular forums, none of which seem to have severe spam issues. I expect they are well moderated (and I've said this is a necessity). Ours will have someone looking after it (moderating) as well as people dedicated to answering specific questions. Thank you. The 301s have been put back. I did wonder if I needed to do anything at all! (I'm a great believer in leaving well alone - why poke a wasp's nest if you don't need to lol) Over the last month there has actually been a slight increase in organic traffic to the new website. My concern is that some pages seem to have been removed from the index. Also (which I didn't say above) that impressions have gone down - however this could be seasonal rather than anything sinister. Do you know of a tool that shows you which urls are in the index - aside from Google, I mean - something I can extract into a spreadsheet? Thank you for helping me again today

Thank you - I didn't know Moz had a network. I'll look into it, but I think we need a UK company purely because the products we sell are for the UK market only (mortgages) so need to get in front of a UK audience... However, I'm saying this without even checking it out! I will, thank you! Am most grateful for your comment! I must admit to being a little disappointed not to have had any more input from fellow mozzers, but I can't complain: I don't always answer questions myself so would be somewhat hypocritical to complain, don't you think? Please - if anyone has any nuggets of info they are happy to share about being an affiliate advertiser don't be shy!

I reported them to Google using the link you posted and already the other site's URLs that had copied us have been removed and our pages have been put back in the index.
