How is it possible that Interflora can bounce back from a Google penalty so quickly - is that normal?
"All" was probably a poor choice of words. Sorry. Do any of us really know what blackhat SEO is anyway?

Are there any plans for a new SEOmoz ranking factors report?
Wow that's very exciting to hear, many thanks for the update Peter. I can't imagine how much data he has been sifting through since his 2011 report. His next report will likely have a profound effect on how SEO's steer their departments.

Is there a way to block competitor ads from showing in YouTube embeds?
Tom and Robert, thanks for your replies guys. I like the idea of looking into using Google display network to serve up my own ads for YouTube videos embedded on my site instead of competitors ads. Not sure if this is actually possible but will be looking into.

Tools for seaching for keyword rich domains
The problem with GoDaddy's domain name generator is that the results are so random. Yes, it may show you ton of options, but they are not very good. A better solution is to find keyword rich domains are by using a tool like Agile Domain Search (http://agiledomainsearch.com). It's a new, powerful domain name generator engine. Simply enter the keyword you wish to include and it will find great .com domains for your website.

Should I be submitting to Google Places AND Google + Local?
Hi Clicksjim, This is an 'it depends' answer. Basically, yes, if you're creating a brand new listing, you still create it via Places, but in regards to what happens with + and + Local, that's more complex. Here's Google's own explanation of this topic: http://support.google.com/plus/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=2623007 And here is a really good FAQ: http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!msg/business/oRvAQC_IakA/vsfNhuMzURYJ In reading that last post, do note that it was written before the whole merging thing happened, so merging is available to some businesses now, but not recommended for all. Read: http://blumenthals.com/blog/2012/08/10/google-business-pages-to-merge-or-not-to-merge-that-is-the-question/ and http://blumenthals.com/blog/2012/11/28/having-issues-with-your-glocal-social-merge-my-advice-dont/ and http://blumenthals.com/blog/2012/12/19/service-area-business-with-a-verified-social-local-google-page-delete-it/ Hope you find these helpful!

Google Authorship for SEO Content Writers
If you are adding them to the clients site I would tend to use the clients profile, assuming the client was ok with this. If it is for guest blogging then again as long as the client is ok with the quality of the work you are producing and are happy to have their name used on the other sites I would use the clients profile. If the client is not ok with this you should learn why as this could be an indication they do not like or understand what you are doing. If it is because they want their name only associated with their content (as an industry expert might) then you need the profile setting up of an employee of that firm and use that in your postings. I hope that helps Sean

Why do I hear that it can be a bad thing to have too many content pages?
Excellent answer by Gil. Thanks for the great post. The purpose behind the search engines' very own existence is to provide and present the visitors with, the most relevant and comprehensive information about the search term and as long as your pages provide this to the visitors, they will rank high in the search engine results pages and can possibly withstand the future algorithm changes.

WordPress - How to stop both http:// and https:// pages being indexed?
Just one adjustment to this - although I think David's right that the canonical tag can be a good solution. Although Google can index https: fine, the issue is whether you're creating duplicates. If you have duplicates, then it's possible that the https: version could be the one you want as canonical. In this case, it doesn't sound like it, but I just wanted to point that out. Of course, long-term, you should sort out why these are being created. A desktop crawler like Xenu or Screaming Frog may be the best bet, but I'd hit the WordPress forums, too. Odds are it's a common issue. Typically, it happens when some deeper page (like a shopping cart) on a site is secure, and then the links are all relative ("/about.php", for example). Then, those links get crawled as both secure and non-secure. Unfortunately, I'm not a WordPress expert, so I can only speak in generalities.
