would love to pm you and learn more about going direct to advertisers instead of affliate sites.so where the column is, where the related items is, i should remove that. when i remove the 2 column it means i only have one google adsense on the page, would you put the google adsense anywhere else on the page

Last year before we had problems with our hosting company where a huge mistake was made, long story but we lost thousands of pages, we were pr4 but now we are pr3 what keywords would you aim for on the home page. This is all great advice, thank you for this, this advice is allowing me to make things better, and we are in the process of making the site bigger and better and trying to make it one of the best magazines out there.

I'll echo the first 2 responses - don't hire a tele/email marketing "SEO company."  Google's webmaster guidelines should give you a good idea of what kind of questions you should be asking an SEO.  Check this out ... and ask the questions, if they're a real SEO they will appreciate that you care enough to ask..... Be very wary of companies that only talk about "links/link-building,"  and not on-site optimization.  I have a few clients who before hiring me, were paying SEO companies $500-$1000 a month for "link building" - and the only thing they have to show for it is a bunch of automated comment and article spam. - (these links are useless/harmful).... Good luck to you, you're in the right place to find a good upstanding SEO!

Hi Diane, there are several reasons that can cause a ranking drop, usually it requires some analysis of your back links, anchor text, content, competitors and etc . Only after that possible to give correct answer.. If you have Google Analytic installed than you may see when exactly, what date the site started to drop. Based on that day possible to predict what caused the ranking drop. It could be Panda or Penguin filter or something else...

Hi Diane, To be honest, I wouldn't expect much SEO benefit out of this site. The type of articles submitted give the impression of a low-quality article directory. The other red flag is they seem to accept just about anyone with very little editorial oversight. In the past, evidence suggests that Google tends to not place much value on links from sites like this. If you're looking to attract traffic, I'd spend a considerable amount of effort to ensure you're creating high quality, relevant value on your site, and then sharing/engaging by perusing a more specific audience, as opposed to a general article directory. For example, you could use Followerwonk to find influencers in your specific niche, and try to get your content in front of them. Definitely a plus if you have good engagement.  One signal on quality is engagement in comments.

have you managed to get into sunzu as i have not. we did have an account and they took money last month but we could not get into it, we were blackstar members so now we have stopped payment and told them so. it looks like no one can join at the moment. to me it seems very strange why anyone would buy ecademy and then close it down, what is the point

Sounds like a waste of money. Simply pinging search engines is not going to influence how likely they would be to index your content. It may help discovery, but you can use free tools to do that (pingoat, pingomatic), Wordpress has the function built in.
