RE: Do parameters in a URL make a difference from an SEO point of view
Hi Chad
Thanks for the info. I should have been more specific with my example. The parameter that we use is something along the lines of www.example.com/product/?banner=1 so if I have picked up what you have said correctly I should be able to flag "banner" through webmaster tools and the search engines will ignore the value. Is that correct?

Do parameters in a URL make a difference from an SEO point of view
We us a number of different parameters in a number of our URLs to track how the user has navigated to the page. So for example we will have a page www.example.com/product/?banner to show that the user has navigated to the page from the banner as opposed to www.example.com/product/?footer to show that the user has navigated to the page from the footer. Do search engines treat these pages as the same page or different pages? Thanks

Google Tag Manager - Debug Mode
Hi I am in the process of implementing Tag Manager across one of the sites that I manage. But it is a very large site so we have taken the decision to implement it on a number of important pages first and then update the rest of the site incrementally. The pages that we have chosen to implement GTM on are confirmation pages as we use double click floodlight tags to track a lot of our conversions. However when I go into debug mode on tag manager I can not seem to get the screen that lets you know if the tag is firing or not. Has anyone else had this problem? Could this be because I don't have GTM code on the homepage of the site? When I implemented Tag manager on other sites that I managed I had no such problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

RE: PPC Adwords Trademark Protection
Hi guys as far as I know the complaint form is the one that you use even if there isn't anyone using your trademark at the moment. It was the form that we used when registering our trademark.

RE: Community Managers, What's your favorite tool to mange your community?
Hi I have found that there isn't one community management tool that does ever thin that I want it to do. If I had to choose my favourite I would probably say Hootsuite as it is the one that I find ticks the most boxes. If you have the pro version there is some very nice features that allow you to creat teams and assign posts to different team members. The scheduling and link shortening features are nice as well. You can also save searches and do some other nice things with it. But I also use a range of other community management tools as well. I would also check. Out Conversocial, Bitly, Tweetreach and Buffer too. I did a post about these tools a while ago. You will find links to each of them here http://www.conorbarron.com/?p=234 I hope that this helps. If you have any more questions please let me know.

One of my pages is a help and questions page about completing a conversions and the other is the actual campaign landing page. They are both ranking for the same term. While the subject of both pages is similar the content is not. Is the rel canonical tag appropriate here?

RE: Wordpress Plugins
Hi Guys
Thanks for the great advice here. I see that the last reply was in 2011. I am wondering is there any new plug-ins that people would recommend?
Thanks
